RE: Pottinger
Hi Sue,

I'm sure you have seen Find A Grave# 102656848 for the First Samuel Pottenger/Pottinger. Of the eight kids he had, Sam Jr. 1718-1820 went to VA, KY and then died in Ohio (most kept the "e" spelling) with many offspring. Robert (1729-1780) went to VA, died there, and all his offspring went on to KY and settled in Nelson Co. Not much is known about the other 6 kids. I will check with my cousins Tom Pottenger(in Ohio) and Bill Reynolds (in KY) who are the top 2 family historians. My great grand uncle Samuel Forest Pottinger (in the 1930's) had spent most of his life tracing the footsteps of when all the Pottengers left Princes George County. He authored many papers about it. Sam Jr and Robert must have documented their adventures quite well, this is why we know so many details about them thanks to Samuel Forest preserving that info. I will try to find out more.

Sue

None of that particular family relates to me so if you wish to maintain the memorials, send me a SAC on each one and I will be happy to transfer them to you.

Thanks,
Margaret
