Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hello from New Mexico.
I've been excavating and cataloging pioneer cemeteries for over 30 years. In the 1980s I even published a few works on the subject. Like most of you, I'm also an avid genealogist. While I enjoy finding the graves of famous people, I'm more interested in the common soldier and pioneer. Every one of them has a story.

As for genealogy, I am currently working on the surnames Trine, Minter, Dozier, Shackleford and Marquez. I'm also collecting the names and graves of the Maryland 6th Infantry.

I'm usually "on the road," so my photos come from wherever I happen to be. I've had the pleasure of meeting hundreds of wonderful people who share this love for history. Contact me if I can be of any help to you.

Hi, Eddie,

Thank you so very much for the photograph, and for adding a memorial for my cousin's wife! I greatly appreciate it. The stone is so legible, too, even after a century. You take a good picture. Thanks so much!

Virtual Cemetery
As a suggestion you might consider creating a public virtual cemetery to showcase the Maryland 6th Infantry burials. Sounds very wonderful!!

Thank you again for everything. You may be right about George being a grandson. I will have to do some more searching. Yes, in census records Johann went by John. I've seen his name both ways. I just had no idea where they were buried. I am so happy to have this mystery solved. Thank you for your time and help. It feels like I can reunite the family now. Have a great day!!! :)

You dear, sweet person you!!! Yes!!! Johann & Augusta are my 2nd great grandparents. Now I know where they are buried. I would love the photos, transfer etc!!! Their daughter, Emma, was married to an Edwards! I will get back with you as soon as I can get to a computer. Doing this from my phone takes too long. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!. :-) :-) :-)

Thanks for pointing out my duplication, I must have been in over drive that day. What brings you to Illinois ?
