Bio Photo Due to email problems I have having difficulty making corrections at this time. I have been blocked out of my own account. This has been going on for over two months. Please forgive if I have not attended to your request. I'll catch us as soon as I figure out what has happened.

Friends, you are invited to visit the memorial page for our son
Nathan Peurifoy He died unexpectedly in October 2014 at age 26 from a diabetic coma.
I am taking a leave of absence from Find a grave for awhile. I'll keep up with my edits, but corrections will just have to wait..
Thank you all for your prayers, friendship and care. It is appreciated.

The life of a person is more than the dash between two dates. It is my hope that the memorials which I create or manage can make the individuals life fuller, even if just linking to family members or adding a few tidbits of information. Researching and including other family information makes them more than graves, they are people. Suggestions are welcome but please submit them using the edit button at the upper right corner of each memorial.
Even when transcribing cemeteries I work hard to link other family members.
I live in the northwestern mountains of North Carolina and have work primarily in cemeteries there. My current focus is Carolina Memorial Park in Concord, North Carolina. There are 28,000 graves but only about 15,500+ listed. I've done more than 4,000 of those. Much of my family is buried there.

My family can be traced back 46 generations to County Leichester, England. The family is English/Norman. They came to England with William after the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The photo above is my ancestor, Sir Nicholas Purefoy, buried in The Church of St. Michael and all Angels in Fenny Drayton, Co. Leicestershire, England. The spelling of my name is the most rare of the three family groups: Purefoy, Purifoy and Peurifoy. The early Purefoys were in Jamestown, VA long before the Hugonaut movement.
On my paternal side I am interested in the Peurifoy, Purifoy, Purefoy, Scott and Suther families.
For my maternal side are Statons, Stiller's,and Moores (from Stanly Co, NC).
My wife is from the Byrd and Carr families of Duplin County, NC.
You are invited to visit the memorials of my grandmother Lillian Scott Peurifoy, my mother
Hazel Staton Peurifoy
and Father Robert Eugene Peurifoy.

Photos of graves are free to use. However, personal photos of individuals are copyrighted by this writer and can only be used on other sites by written request via email (not "public messages on my personal page) and acknowledgement of original owner of the photograph.

Thanks to all who help with my typo, mistakes and incorrect links. I could not accomplish this without your help.

RE: Miremont
You're welcome.I'm glad it helped you out. I know that I have found several members of my very large family on the find-a-grave web site and it has helped me out a lot on my family tree.

RE: Farmington
I hope they will. I am slowly working my way through creating a new census for this cemetery. The old one is full of errors and I have been in contact with them to let them know of the errors I've found. Once I get everything corrected and get everyone listed, I will send all the information to them to update their records.

Thank you again for being such a good sport. I wish I could say I was done with this cemetery, but unfortunately I am not. I have done all but two graves on the hill at the back of the cemetery. Those are unmarked. I assume they had temporary markers which have been lost/moved as they are new graves. I think I found the name for one of those last night and added that information. I have yet to finish the graves at the front or on the side of the entrance road.

If there's anything I can do to help please let me know.

Thanks again,

Hi Robert, I am so sorry to hear of your son's passing. I cannot imagine the pain and heartache with the death of a child. I just lost a young friend that had suffered from this horrible disease all of his life. You placed a photo on the above memorial and it is the photo of his son's stone. If you could just delete this for me. My thoughts and prayers are with you & family.

Graves of Weatherspoons and others related to me
Appreciate the work you have done in recording these graves. I am not a Weatherspoon, but my grandma was a Branch and some Weatherspoons descend from Hepsey Branch, dau of Richard Calvin Branch (who 'survived four wives' my father said - there's a fifth wife he did not survive, too!)

Hello, I saw that you added the memorial for Derrick McCormick

The date of death is incorrect. He passed away on 15 Nov 2014 at Ft. Stewart, GA.

His date of birth is 7 Aug 1977 in Dillon, SC.

Thank you!

RE: John Cress - Phillippi Cemetery
Various records show differences. I have him in my genealogy as John Mitchell Colfax Cress. So I don't know if he had two middle names or if he went by Colfax as his headstone indicates. To be on the safe side, why don't you show two middle names. Other family trees show this too. Thanks for asking.
