Bio Photo Thank you in advance for visiting my sister, Sandy

and my mother, Elsie.

I am so grateful to everyone that leaves flowers for them.

One of my hobbies is Wheres

When time permits, please leave flowers for the following:

This is a poem that I stumbled upon (author unknown):

Always a silent hurt,
many a silent tear,
but always a beautiful memory
of one we loved so dear.

God gave us strength to bear it,
and courage to take the blow,
but what it meant to lose you one will ever know.

I was born and raised in Norfolk, VA. I've lived in FL, NY, CA, WA, and OR. I was married to my best friend in San Diego over 39 years ago. We now live in the beautiful great Northwest. We have four wonderful children and we've been blessed with ten grandchildren.

I found Find A Grave by accident. It has become one of my favorite sites to visit. It has given me a place that I can remember my mother and my sister Sandy and honor their memory right from my desk. Thank you Find A Grave.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16

Strangers in the Box
By Pamela A. Harazim

Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like.
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where, when,
These faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be tossed away?
Make time to save your pictures,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.

"If you could see your ancestors
All standing in a row,
There might be some of them, perhaps,
You wouldn't want to know.

But, here's another question, which
Requires another view,
If you could meet your ancestors,
Would they be proud of you?"

Frrederick Ameigh
Please accept the following brief bio for Frederick Ameigh:

Frederick C. Ameigh (1895-1974) was born in Addison, New York March 9, 1895, the oldest of two children of Frederick A. and Lena Ameigh. He had a younger sister Martha Louise who was about five years younger than he. They appear to have been the only children their parents had. Their mother’s parents were German. When Fred was five, the family was living on West Railroad Street in Addison Village, and the 1915 New York State Census has them on Tuscarora Street in Addison then. With serial number 2,422,402, Fred was inducted into the United States Army in Addison on May 26, 1918 when he was twenty three and one half years of age. Though it’s a little confusing, under military organizations are listed “38 Co 153 Dep Brigade to June, 1918” and Co C, 312 Supply Tn to discharge.” In July, 1918, he was a private first class, and in June, 1919, he was promoted to corporal. Under overseas time is indicated August 24, 1918 to July 22, 1919, but no specifics were given. After his discharge from the Army on July 29, 1919, he apparently returned to his parents’ home at 32 Tuscarora Street. He was living with them in 1920 and working as an auto mechanic. Around that time, Fred married a woman names Florence, and they had at least two children, Ruth, born in 1923 and Martha in 1926. In 1940, the family was living in Rochester, New York at 20 Raymond Street. Fred died on April 22, 1974 at age seventy nine and is buried in White Haven Memorial Park in Pittsford, Monroe County, New York. A search for his wife’s grave turned up nothing.

Westlawn-Hillcrest Vets
We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge #326.

If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.

Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.

If you have already received this message, please accept our apologies for the duplicate message.
