Although I have browsed through findagrave for several years, I have only recently become a full-fledged member. Having always had an interest in geneaology and graves, I thought I might just as well put my travels to good use and begin contributing a bit. I like to travel, and if ever possible, I enjoy going to pay my respects at famous gravesites and memorials (a kind-of morbid hobby, I know). I also like to find old, unkempt graveyards in the country and at least make SOME attempt at cleaning them up a bit, clearing away brush and weeds and such. I may not know the people, but they still deserve to be remembered. | |

F A G was smart enough to see it as a duplication, but they are cowardly about removing images for fear of offending the volunteers. Yet they are not smart enough to grant Erskine FAME status. If you request it as well as me, maybe they will relent.
A slight complication with his name is that he was named for a RAMSAY but appears to have not used that spelling.
They told me that they did not like my bio, because of "excessive" detail, which is odd considering the short stories that appear on other FAMOUS monuments. | | | Clinton Slayton

Please delete unnecessary photos of footstone and memorial stone, I had already posted these, and this blocks posting of other images. Since they were already there, no need to have added them, thanks.
I am unable to get F A G to list him as FAMOUS. This is frustrating considering that SUN RA is listed as a FAMOUS person, and his effect on the history of jazz is minimal compared to Hawkins. | | | Harold & Pat Anderson
