I'm a genealogy enthusiast, a Civil War & U.S. military history buff and have always had a fascination with cemeteries. I'm also a USAF veteran of the Persian Gulf War and a second generation hillbilly (Kentucky).|
I really enjoy being a Photo Volunteer and have found the Find-A-Grave experience to be very rewarding! 99.999% of the folks are very helpful and pleasant, but boy... I have run into a few square doughnuts out there!
My current Find-A-Grave projects are locating graves and updating existing memorials for members of two of my great-great-grandfather's Civil War regiments (23rd Kentucky and 28th Ohio Infantries, both Union). I appreciate all of the cooperation I'm receiving from my fellow gravers! I'm also helping to clean up the "Autograver" mess at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Most of my memorials are family, but I do enter military veterans and other graves that may catch my eye from time to time. If I have a memorial of a relative or friend of yours, send me a transfer request by way of a SAC. I don't follow FAG's transfer guidelines as if they were the Ten Commandments like some folks do. If you have ever refused to transfer the memorial of a relative to someone - shame on you. That's just plain mean.
Please feel free to use my grave marker photos for your personal use. ˝

Rob, the offer for transfers is kind, but unnecessary. I'm attempting to determine if the John P. Jackson who is buried there is Ltc John P. Jackson of the 23rd Kentucky Volunteer Infantry, USA. I've spent about two years trying to track down his resting place. Thank you for your assistance.

Thank you for taking all of the Chalk photos in Evergreen Cemetery. Appreciate all the work you do posting all of the pictures you take.
Also, thanks for the transfers, wasn't expecting them. I'll try to add more information. Thanks much, Michael M.
|Paula||RE: Uncle Sonny's photo|
Hi Rob! Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I was told that it was my dad with Uncle Sonny. If I remember right, there was a gun that my dad got from Uncle Sonny that caused problems among some family members. I can't remember if it was brothers, cousins or uncles. I just remember my parents talking about it. I have a pic of dad and Uncle Tom when they were little and that makes me think that it is my dad with Uncle Sonny. Uncle Tom has specific facial characteristics that my dad does not, and I don't see any on the young man with Uncle Sonny. I do see my dad's nose and jaw, and the haircut is very similar to what my dad wore back then. I could email the pic to Uncle Tom and ask him. Paula

I started in May of 1984. AMMO. Spent three years in West Germany, a place called Morbach outside of Hahn, AB.
I only spent four years, but a USAF fan ever since.

I am not related to the Weller family, but my husband is. He has no interest in genealogy. My husband descends from Jeremiah Weller, sister to your Margaret Jenny. Please email me directly...Janet
|Steve Barnett||RE: You don't remember?|
Hey Rob, I do remember you without being reminded. When Carol said you saw me in the cemetery (she relayed that last Thurs or Fri) I thought she meant this past Thursday when I was in the cemetery with Judy looking for a stone. Didn't know she meant a couple of months or more ago.
I recall you helping with the stone I found and you removing your claim so I could post the photos, very nice of you. I also recall our conversation about your ancestors in the cemetery and the fact you grew up near the cemetery and often played there.
See I am not losing it. :-)
I do go to St. Stephens occasionally but not Spring Grove (a little out of my travel area for graving). I have been to Spring Grove in the past on several occasions doing some historical research and taking photographs for a photography class I took a while back. Love Spring Grove.

I'm glad that one passes muster.
|Carol S||RE: Whites|
I kinda figured that out.
