Margaret Schaffner Yoh

You rejected two edits I had made to Margaret Schaffner Yoh (Memorial# 47468805). First is the birth location and death date. The birth location (Shelby County, OH) is in the posted obituary. The death date (5 July 1957) is found at:

Her mother married Philip Ziebel on 26 December 1876. They were divorced sometime before 1880, because she and her mother were living with her mother's family in the 1880 census and her mother married Jacob Schaffner on 30 December 1880. In the 1880 census, Margaret is listed as "Margaret Shafer"...using her mother's maiden name. While not 100% clear, it would suggest she was born out of the marriage that ended in divorce. If Jacob Schaffner was her father, it would have been more likely she would have been named "Margaret Schaffner" in the census. However, the most convincing evidence is her marriage record, which clearly indicates her father is Philip Zwiebel:

Consider the fact that she was alive at the time of her marriage, whereas the death record was made after her death based on the memories of her children who probably were familiar with her step-father and thought he was her father. So, despite what the obituary says, Philip Zwiebel is most likely her father.

Mary McCartney
Hi, You transferred Mary McCartney's memorial to me. She is my 6th generation great grandmother.

Can you help me with any other details about her gravesite. I have been accepted in the DAR as a daughter of her husband James McCartney. There is confusion about the maiden name of his wife: Mary Taggart or Mary Jamison, the last has a preponderance of evidence but the first lady who proved said Mary Taggart and no one has proved otherwise. I would like to prove she is Mary Jamison.
I would like to know what was available at her grave when you did your transcription. Was there a headstone? If so an inscription? Is there someone to photograph it now? I left a photo request at Find A Grave some time ago and have not gotten a response.
I found a website that said on her tombstone it stated her age at death 62 yrs, 5 mo, 18 with birth and death inscribed on tombstone.
Did you see that?
were there in other graves in the plot where she is that are with her as family?
Do you know if there are cemetery records?
I realize this a lot, and would appreciate any information you have no matter how little. Do you know anyone in Bath Co to contact to get more information.?
Respectfully Barbara Johnston. contributor (#48028184)

RE: pohlabel
Great...thanks for all your help. I just hate having just a first name for any ancestor. Really appreciate your persistence.
