RE: Everett Paulsen
Thanks! I've just been adding photos to Mom's memorial page too -- Gudrun Paulsen. She was tiny so I represented the two of them on the stone with a Big evergreen tree and a little evergreen tree. Thanks for your help, Helen. -- Marsha

Goodie Paulsen's/ Mom's grave photo & page
Thank you, volunteer Helen, for your photo of my folks' gravestone. You are busy and I'll bet NObody knows Sunset Memorial Cemetery like you do!
I so appreciate your help in this, since I'm away in Iowa.

RE: Frederika Rivers
Yes, that would be fine. But first maybe you should help me understand what this means (having control). Can you give me a brief description? I would like to upload more info and a picture. If having control means I can do it, then transfer it.

I was just getting ready to upload a picture of the grave stone and the name of my grandmother. Then, by chance I see its already there. Thank you for putting it there.

Thank you!
Helen,

Thank you for the kind words. You do such a great job on here. I have only ran into a handful of people on Find A Grave with good intentions. I too almost quit. I even transferred all my memorials over to Bud. He encouraged me to stick with it.
I will place you as a friend and keep in touch.
Take care,
K

Now, in order to link a child to a parent, you must be the owner/manager of the CHILD. I was the owner of the two grown children, and have transferred them to the memorial managed by Patty McGinty, 3162598 <---

So, the following memorial is ready to be deleted:

RE: Hughey Cemetery
Okay, still uncertain about some of my Hughey info, but then that's not my direct line. But, one of my elderly cousins I corresponded with over 20 years ago - Robert Presnell Moore, whose work appears in "Burke County Heritage" - taught me what I know about my Brank/Alexander families (he and another now-deceased cousin Sudie Alexander). You are probably aware that Margaret Brank's father was Robert Huston Brank who was the son of Peter Brank & Ruby Rebecca Alexander. Bob & Sudie & I all descend from Peter's sister Elizabeth, and we also descend from Rebecca's brother Samuel (again, this is all based on their work). We have had success using dna to prove some of our Alexander lines, which proves Bob's genealogy correct, but have never had the opportunity to use it to prove Ruby Rebecca's line. It becomes more difficult with the female lines. Anyway, it is highly likely that you and I are related twice over - through the Branks & Alexanders.

RE: Hughey Cemetery
I am related to the Hughey's through their great great grandmother Ruby Rebecca Alexander. And am doubly related to them through her husband Peter Brank. Normally, I document information like this, but oddly enough I do not have such for their burials. I can only guess that the information came from their North Carolina death certificates which I could have viewed back in the day when I subscribed to Ancestry.com, although normally I would have printed each certificate for my files. Since I am unable to verify the place of burial of Lula Hughey Head, Anna Hughey, & James Harley Hughey, I have deleted their memorials from Hughey Cemetery. Thank you for bringing this oversight to my attention.

Rice Family Plot
My Rice family are all in either the Hughey Rice Cemetery or the Berea Baptist Church cemetery on Riceville Road.

Rev William F. Rice is my GGF. 13915561. His father is John Longmire Rice 105826537. I recently marked that grave and that link can be made. His mother was Martha Roseanna Stephenson Rice who is buried in an unmarked grave beside her husband.

Lillian Rice Joyner (a d/o Rev. William F. Rice and Margaret Lindsey Rice) is buried in the section of the Hughey Cemetery with her husband George Joyner. John Ernest Rice, Sr. is a son of Rev William F. Rice and Margaret L. Rice. He is buried there beside his parents in a marked grave.

Two of Rev William F. Rice's brothers are buried there Uncle Alfred and Uncle Johnny.

Rev. Rice's gm Martha Longmire Rice is in an unmarked grave between Alfred and John Longmire Rice. Martha Longmire Rice's husband, William Rice s/o Joseph Rice is buried at Berea in an unmarked grave with his 2nd wife.

There is a block of graves above the line which includes the patriarch - Joseph Rice - that belong to the family of John Longmire Rice and Martha Roseanna Stephenson Rice.
