Always glad to help when I can.

This was easy. The 1935 hurricane, the "Storm of the Century" came through the Islamorada area on Labor Day Weekend. This monument pictured on his memorial is dedicated to all those who lost their lives. On the backside of the moument are the names of the victims. However, I obtained a printout (map form) of all the victims. My father lost 2 brothers, a sister, her husband and their 3 children in this storm. This does not give his middle name -so are we talking about the same person? My direct e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org. Do you have a tree on ancestry.com where I can look at him to see what you have? I'll be glad to send you (via regular e-mail) a copy of the page where he is listed. It only gives name and age.

Would you be kind enough to give me the Find A Grave number for him so I can take a look at it?

The tombstone of Jacob Griffin who died 1800 is missing. Someone from the Rombout Rural Cemetery Board told me descendants have plans to replace the stone. Completion date: unknown. Keep your request on the list and eventually you'll get lucky.

There is no image. The memorial was created from a cemetery transcription by a group interested in recording the monuments in the early 1900s. There have been errors in the reading and/or transcription of the stones. If you have a source I will add it and correct the memorial record and credit you with correcting a probable transcription error.
Thanks for your contributions.
