We are David & Effie. We were born and raised in upstate South Carolina. I found Find A Grave in 2009 and now David has joined me in a search for our "lost" family members. We sincerely hope that along the way our contributions to this site will help others find theirs.
We wish to thank those who have made memorials for our family members and those who have transfered management of them to us. We especially want to thank those who have made the corrections we requested, as correct and complete data is the key to accomplishing our goals.
Our primary sources of information for our memorials, other than direct knowledge of burial, are grave marker photos and obituaries. We use these sources as backup for our entries, as we DO NOT make any without proof of burial location.
Our motto is... to err is human, and to correct is necessary. Please contact us if you find an error on our memorials or if you have missing information that we can add to make an appealing and honorable memorial. We will gladly correct any errors on our entries, make additions, add links or transfer memorials if they are not related to us. (please use the EDIT tab and make a suggestion option on the memorial for any request.)
We understand that a photo says more than a thousand words, and is a very important part of family research. It is our pleasure to offer our photos for personal genealogical purposes. You may re-post on Find A Grave if you will have the courtesy to give us credit in the caption of the photo. Otherwise, DO NOT RE-POST!

Hi David & Effie!
I saw your info and pic of the gravestone of the above in Lavonia, GA. Do you have any personal info on this lady? According to my great grandmothers social security application her mother was Ellen Black Vaughn and she was born in 1886 one mile from Lavonia. I've not been able to verify the connection. The application also listed the father as Alvin Vaughn. Thanks so much!
