Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Tucson, AZ, which is very far away from my area of interest...mostly Carroll County, IL. I've been working on my family history only since 2009. I picked it up where my late brother left off. He started it ages ago when there were no computers to rely on. Everyone he found was through old family records, interviews, libraries, and cemeteries. He would buy headstones for family members who were buried in Potter's fields or who had only a rudimentary marker. The surnames I'm most closely associated with are White, Woodruff, Rahn, and Miller, all in Illinois but in various counties: Schuyler, Knox, Carroll. My info on the Whites and Woodruffs is sketchy, so I'd really like to find more about them, starting with their graves. My Dad passed away when I was 12 years old, so I never got to ask the questions about his family that have arisen since I began working on genealogy.

I am not in a position, unfortunately, to be able to be a photo volunteer--at least not yet--but my gratitude for these selfless folks is immeasurable. You perform such an invaluable service for this site and your hard work is much appreciated.

***I would also like to thank the caring people who post flowers on my family's memorials. It brings tears to my eyes when I find that someone has visited a member of my family on their birthday or angel day...or anytime. It is so touching and always tugs at my heart strings when I come across these tokens. If I can't thank each of you individually, I at least want you to know how much I appreciate your thoughtfulness.***

My precious puppy Stewart, 4/29/2003 - 1/10/2014

My thanks to D. Frederick Birely on this site for teaching me how to link family members on my bio page!

Elizabeth White Barton
hi, just ran across a memorial for Elizabeth White married to Stephen Barton as I was looking for additional information on my Barton tree, they are distant cousins, the manager transfered her to me. was wondering if she might be one of your whites? daughter of Samuel E. White from Pensylvania and Martha Ann Lawrence from Ohio b. 1839 d. 1917 Warrick co. Indiana and buried in Degonia Springs (also known as Bakers chapel in some records) if you think she might be yours, i have more of her family info and i would be happy to shoot you a transfer of any of those i have as well, they are not directly related to me so i really just stumbled on them. being as they are near the area your Sarah was buried in I thought its a good posibility of a relation.

np! glad to be of help, im transferiing her now, if you are doing Dougan research and if you happen across a Sarah F. Dougan, from Indiana, could you give me a shout, she was married to my 5th great grandfather in Indiana as his third wife Dougan was her 1st married name her father was Samuel Jeffries from Pensylvania, weve all been wondering what happened to her after he died, shes not in the cemetery with him. and if you find any more memorials in that area youd like to have just let me know, ill be GLAD to transfer, im not actively researching those at the moment because ive been working on all the ones that are directly related to my family and id be glad to see them get some attention from someone who knows more about them.

hi, i noticed you sent several edits for this memorial in the wallnut hill cemetery in Indiana, would you like a transfer? I noticed your name also contained white. she is not family to me, i transfered the online transcriptions done by my great aunt who was in the historical society there before passing.

RE: Trapper
Dear Sheila,
Thanks for the kind messages...you sound like me, I'd have been across the yard to that dog in a heartbeat, too. =) Trapper's story has been shared literally thousands of times through the web, my writing, etc. now, and the mail that I get on the photo is wonderful...it gives people something to think about, I think, and in some cases, it helps some to have hope and faith that there are things that we do not understand, a power or Being that will always be there for us. As I say in the memorial, the photo brought my own father great comfort when he was dying; after we had that photo come back from the photo shop, Dad never doubted again that he would not someday be reunited with Ron. Anyhow, Take Care and do stay in touch; it seems that I am always busy, but I always check my pages on here and my messages. Have a good day tomorrow - Hugs, Rhonda and Gannon Blue
