I have loved cemeteries ever since a child when I went with my Grandmother and she told me about all the people and their lives. |
My dream would be to have all the memorials I have entered to be claimed by family. I will be happy to transfer memorials to you.
I am interested in the Civil War NYS Volunteers --the 189th Regiment and the 8th Heavy Artillery

Trying to find out more information on Judson Latham. I can't find him listed when I search 9th infantry, co b so am wondering if his gravestone lists that or where you got your information from. I'm trying to find out if he's connected to some other Lathams.

Since I am not related to anyone in Tioga County PA, I track down Civil War vets from the county to make sure their graves are marked with US Flag holder and try to get them entered into FindAGrave and Sons of Union Civil War Veterans databases since the Veterans Administration did not exist then so tracking of veterans was not being done except local state organizations and fraternities.
Our county, though small and isolated in 1860, had the highest casualty rate per 1000 among the counties supporting the Union. When cleaning our abandoned church cemetery I found several unmarked Civil War vets, then I wondered, how many more in the many more abandoned grave yards do we have?
So glad to help you out.
