I was born in Lancaster, Wisconsin the 18th of July 1953. Graduated from Iowa-Grant High-School in 1973. Attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison until 1976 when I enlisted in the U.S. Army. Served as a French/Spanish Voice Intercept Operator with the 158th ASA Company, 313th CEWI Batallion attached to the 82nd Airborne in Fayetteville, North Carolina. After the Army I returned to the University attending classes both in Madison and Paris, France. I received a BA|
in Political Science in 1980 and a BS in French Education in 1983. After a short stint working full-time with the Army Reserves I accepted Department of Army civilian employment in Heidelberg, Germany. I began work at Hq USAREUR in March 1985 and within two weeks of arrival events had heated up as one of our officer's was shot and killed in East Germany while assigned to the United States Military Liaison Mission-Berlin. At the end of the cold war staff billets were reduced and I was offered a chance to work in Augsburg or RAF Molesworth, UK.
My branch chief suggested I take the job in England as he thought it had more potential. I sure hated to leave Heidelberg but I had to move on. Feeling in a blue mood I left Germany for Huntingdon, UK in September 1992 and worked for USEUCOM for the past ten years at the Joint Analysis Center (JAC). My future plans are somewhat flexible in that I would like to be involved with work assisting our nation as best I can since the events of 9-11. My retirement plans involve having homes in central Texas and Southwestern Wisconsin but if it comes to one or the other I'd pick SW Wis. I enjoy creativity, nature, golf, people with things to say, classic movies, photography, writing, bicycling, history, sci fi, target shooting and a dozen or so other interests.
