I manage~~not own~~the memorials I place on FindaGrave. Please use the SAC (edit feature) when asking for changes. This prevents mistakes because the edit feature connects me to the right memorial. Please read this ★ ☆ ★ FAQs ★ ☆ ★ before you intentionally make a duplicate of a memorial (which is a no no): I do transfer out of guidelines a lot if I feel you will maintain the memorial you request better than I can ~ which means a beloved aunt, cousin, best friend, etc. (Just don't ask for a whole cemetery or a whole list of the same name especially if you happened to find this site and have been a member for a few days). Stick around for awhile - contribute. Although a great place for genealogy this is a GRAVES REGISTRATION SITE!
★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆
Permission has been given to GenealogyTrails.com to use my photos for their excellent site.
YES - you have permission to use the photos I took for your personal family files. I would appreciate it if you cited where you found the photo and if possible link back to FindAGrave.com.
However unless you are a nonprofit organization, this is not to be copied & pasted on a commercial site or used for commercial publication without permission.

I love to have additional information to add to the memorials. In winter I go through what I have put up and link families, find additional dates, etc. Although it looks like I have more than I can handle, I have had no problem adding suggested information. I have 35 years of experience in family history research and will be happy to add links or more biographical information on your family.

If you are requesting a photo - all information is helpful. Many people only have flat to the ground memorials, and they are difficult to find. If you know of other family names that might be close by, that is very helpful in large cemeteries. Also if your memorial served in the military, that is very helpful as most cemeteries commemorate with a flag.

I love the challenge of photographing really old stones. I also love the zincs - which were an inexpensive product for the time but have outlasted some of the more expensive marbles and granites. The zincs were very popular during the Prohibition Era because the insides were hollow and easily accessible.

The people we ~meet~ in these resting places are integral in putting together family history. The memorial may be all that is left.
★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆
Thank you to all the volunteers who have added photos to my memorials, taken the time to send me information, added their own memorials, found a dupe or two, and have been kind and respectful.

It is so important that if you have an old cemetery near you, to get these stones recorded before weather and/or vandals get to them.
★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★★ ☆
I do try to wipe off debris and pull some overgrown grass out of the way, but I will not harm the stone in any way. Plus I do not pull up flowers, even if they are wilted.
It's a bit of work to take the photos, re size and sometimes enhance the lettering to be made readable, enter names and upload the photos. I do this lovingly. Please respect that.
★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★
I have a camera that takes good photos, however the condition of the stone may make it unreadable or the stone is so damaged that there is no information. Bright sunny days might be good for walks but can wash out headstone inscriptions. I do retakes a lot.

Gaidis Memorial Pages
Carol

You transferred 2 pages, Martha and Margaret Gaidis. I am not related to the family and don't believe I requested the transfer.

Do you wish to take them back or shall I transfer to Find A Grave User #8, F.A.G. Managers?

Martha http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=165141928

Margaret http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=165780141

Thanks
JLM

Ferdindand E. Sage 145376424
Is there any way you can check on the birth date for this Ferdinand Sage. I believe it to be the Ferdinand born in 1821 in Connecticut and residing in the Rocky Hill area as shown on the census for 1850, 60, 70 and 80, husband of Martha Root and father of Audora and Charles. He is the son of Eber Sage and Nancy Price of Connecticut

Ferdinand Edwin Sage # 68640389 B: 1851 in Allegany New York and d: 1924 In New York is the son of Edwin Smith Sage and Mary Nichols of New York and I believe he is the Ferdinand buried in Mount View Cemetery, Cattaraugus Co., New York.

RE: PVT Joseph Gaidis Marker
I was thinking they were all in the same section but clearly not. Joseph in 10M and other two in 10L which may or may not be very close. Thinking all were in same area I was concerned perhaps they all were as overgrown as Joseph's

Thanks for your help

PVT Joseph Gaidis Marker
Thank you for such a quick response. Did you actually take the photo or have one on hand?

Reason I ask is because I also have two more photo requests for photos that were located right next to Joseph's. Just checking to see if you may be interested in taking their marker photos as well.

Again, thanks for posting the marker photo. I can now add it to the memorial for Alfred James Gaidis at http://www.virtualwall.org/dg/GaidisAJ01a.htm once I get the other two marker photos.

Dear Friend,

Would you be so kind as to allow me to manage the William 'Buster' Roberts # 127478510 Memorial? The Roberts Family were a close and loving Family towards me in the late Thirties.
Gratefully,
Tim

How wonderful to see that Timothy and Rachel still actually have grave markers. You did a nice job of getting them photographed. Appreciate your efforts very much. Diane

Hi Cyndi..

I received an old letter that I received and your welcome to use it if you want it. I've got the letter here http://genealogytrails.com/ill/whiteside/oldletters.html but I'm going to put that letter on his biography as well. I just sent a message to Wendy McIntosh to get permission to use her photos to complete it all. Is Joseph W. Hill one of your ancestors? The man who sent the letter to me is wondering what they should do with the letter .. I'm suggesting they send it to the Historical Society in Whiteside Co.. because I'm not related to anyone in the county.... Let me know what you think ?

Marcel Therrien-St. Mary Cemetery
Could you please check your photos for this headstone photo? I believe that there is a mix-up on his mothers & his headstone. This photo shows his mothers. His mother is Marie B. Therrien. Thank you for these photos in advance.
