|I've been interested in genealogy since I was a child, listening to the stories my family would tell about our "ancestors". It almost seemed as if I knew them. I was well schooled on my "lines" and could recite them at a young age. I was fascinated by the huge family tree my grandfather made of my grandmother's family line. |
I thought they would all live forever and made the mistake of taking them for granted. Now I'm doing what I can to preserve this information for my children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, hoping that at least one will choose to pick up the task and continue to record those moments that make each of us unique. To all of them, I wish the gift of history, roots and family love. Bless those who have gone before me, and those who shall come after. They are the record keepers and story tellers. Through our efforts, and theirs, we will not be forgotten.
Happy digging everyone!.

I noticed you are a cousin of Elizabeth's. She was my gggrandmother. I wonder, since you, too, are interested in genealogy, if you know the name of William Alexander Drake's third wife. I have Elizabeth Melvina Hutchinson, but she was a widow when the 1880 census were taken. She is buried with William Alexander Drake, so they are in the same cemetery as your cousin. E.M. Hutchinson-Drake has been a mystery to me for years, even though my line comes down through yur cousin and my gg grandfather. Any help is appreciated.
