For me, photographing cemeteries has evolved from an interest in genealogy, nature, and a quest for understanding life. I enjoy following the paths of my ancestors, searching for their final resting places. I also enjoy fulfilling photo requests. Finding graves brings a rush that makes the search worthwhile. Photo volunteer work is just a small way of contributing and giving something back to others. Cemeteries are by nature peaceful places, and I enjoy the peace I find while searching. Yet, my favorite cemeteries are those that are filled with activity, either relatives visiting their loved ones, joggers, or people walking their dogs.
Currently Pekin IL is home base (but I love to travel).

I noticed you took one of the photos of the Wyreka Cemetery in Putnam Missouri. I just made a memorial for a child in that cemetery, and since I have no photo (and photo requests are backed up 4 years for that cemetery), I though at least your lovely picture of the gate would look nice. Could you share that photo on memorial #144055309 please? Thank you, if you are willing, and thank you also for the many photos you do take!!

I was doing some research on my Bapst family line at Laenna Cemetery and noticed you had uploaded some photos to the memorials. I wanted to thank you for taking the time to do that and for taking such nice clear shots. I apologize for not noticing your effort sooner. Your kindness is very much appreciated.

I do have a photo of the old memorial page. But, I did not download it. I have requested memorials that have been taken down by the original owner to be reconstructed. If you ask findagrave to help, the old # was 18363552, and Robert was the owner. Not sure of the reason why but I have had to do alot of redos on his work. Let me know if you need me to copy and send the photo.
Hi Greg, On 15 Mar 2014, you provided a photo for me of Herman's headstone. I couldn't find the message that you provided this and it doesn't look like I posted a thank you....so almost a year late but still sincere, THANK YOU so much! Your time and effort are appreciated!

I have a special request. in 2012 I copied a memorial that you had taken a photo of the stone. That memorial has been taken down, and another added. The new memorial #is 137901492. If you keep the photos, could you please repost the grave photo for Norman, who was killed in Vietnam. This would mean so much to me. Thank you for ALL of you fine contributions to this site.
|Marie Stephens Tatum||William L. Johnson|
Hi Greg, My family have looked for generations for William Johnson, my grandfather. He deserted my Grandmother when my mother was about 1 year old and was never seen or heard from again. My mother looked for him all of her life until her death, but could never find him. My son and I took up the research in the past few years and have traced a William Johnson, that may be him to East Peoria, Tazewell County Illinois where he may have died. We do not know if this is our Grandfather. William Johnson's (our Grandfather) father was Marcus Johnson who lived and died in Arkansas, and mother was Susan Clifton. This William Johnson in Miller Cemetery at Spring Valley may be him since the dates fit. Do you know how we can find more information about this person? Thank you for any help you may be able to give. Marie
Here is additional information on Sarah J. Hart and her husband, George.
Her maiden name was White. She died in Morgan County, Illinois.
George's full name is George Washington Hart. He was born and died in Morgan County, Illinois.
