Thank you both for the photo of the grave marker which gave me the birth date. It was greatly appreciated.

Wonderful! Have you run into one for his brother, Lindsey D Spurlock? (MD was a cousin and we always get notes for him instead.)
Lindsey (1822) was son of John Spurlock and brother of Rev. Percival Spurlock and Benjamin RD. Lindsey was born in Old Richmond before the family of John moved to Illinois in about 1838.
Lindsey married Rhoda Ann Booton (dau. of Fanny Spurlock.)They took their family on to Iowa (about 1852) where my ggrandfather, John William was born. They separated in their later years and went to live with their children. Lindsey had been a rancher/farmer but took up ministry (possibly the 'new' Adventist calling.)
We know Rhoda died in 1875 in Keokuk, Iowa and is buried in Sandusky Cemetery, Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa from family documents. But we were told Lindsey went on to stay with his daughter and died in 1909 just after his daughter's death. No records have him listed. We can not get into some from IL. Some of the family stayed there.
Dean may have been our Lindsey's middle name, too. Their mother was Mary "Polly" Dean (or Deane).
Any clues may prove helpful. Thanks!

Thanks for the information. Where did you find the Russel Dean part of his name?
Are you related?

We have gone to imbedding.
Just a suggestion.
PS---my email to you was rejected.

Find A Grave# 5700235(Henry Lutz) and Find A Grave# 5700243 (Mary Lutz. Is there any way you can remove any of the tombstone pictures so I can add other info on thier sites. If not that is fine. Just thought I would ask.

Tom and Nancy I'm sorry I don't have any information on where William and Malinda are buried. I as assuming you have been to the cemetery and there are no headstones for them. If I find any information I will let you know. Rosie Downard

Tom and Nancy, Thanks for taking the time to search out and photograph the tombstone of Henry Bell Thurman, whose mortal remains were laid in the West Midway Cemetery near London Mills in Fulton County, Illinois. It is a GREAT addition to his site and is GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thanks, too, for all you have done for me and Find A Grave in the past and for all you will yet do. What we are doing, I believe, will be appreciated by many long after we are gone. THANKS again for all you have done for me!! Sincerely, Baxter
