I am so sorry it turned out this way! I used the other unmarked graves with placeholders to give me direction, since they had the coordinates. I spent maybe 10 minutes combing the grass and weeds, but the mosquitoes became unbearable!
I know the VA can supply a gravestone. Did this man die in the war and was Fairbanks his home? It's strange Fairbanks is so limited on cemeteries and doesn't have a national one.

Hello, I went with my brother to be at Normandy on the 70th anniversary of D-Day. My first, and likely last, trip to those countries. We visited WWI and WWII sites all over France, Germany, Belgium, etc. I took all the volunteer pics for four major American cemeteries in our travels. Very emotional visits. Probably about 250 grave pics sets in all. Still working on them.

Glad to do. Henri Chapelle is not far from my home. Please feel free to ask if you need some more from Belgium.

I saw your profile pic, and the background story about your relative. I had a High School English teacher who spent the first two weeks of the year telling us students detailed accounts of his life as a POW in World War II. He was captured at the Battle of the Bulge. I will never forget him telling how they had to eat black bread that was made with part sawdust, and of course, even worse atrocities. We all gained a great respect for our military from his stories, and -- predicates and possessives be damned, it was well worth it.
I just wanted to say thank you for everything you do here. A very worthwhile endeavor.

It took some detective work on this one as the memorial was posted for the wrong cemetery. Wardvale Methodist Cemetery, St. John's Lutheran and Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery share the same area outside of Johnsonburg in Ridgway Township. Fortunately we were able to find listings for Holy Rosary & Wardvale.
It was an honor to complete this one.
