|Bio and Links|
|I hope to add a more detailed (and better explained) bio at a later date but wanted to add a little now since I am trying to contribute memorials as time permits.|
My genealogy research led me to this site which I absolutely have fallen in love with. The other contributors have taught me how important it is not only in preserving our past but in honoring those who paved the way for us--whether our parents, a long-ago relative or a soldier's name that means nothing to me. Oh, but it does--because I've learned that very soldier gave up his life over 225 years ago so that I could be free today. Did he realize that then? No, of course not--but he does now just as he also knows now that he has not been forgotten as we continue to honor him and all the others whether they were soldiers or carpenters or wives "keeping house" or little ones that were lost in an epidemic. We are their legacy.
And so if I can help anyone with questions or if there is something you would like me to add, correct or delete please let me know thru the edit tab. I do ask for a brief explanation explaining the change request (and please don't be offended if I question it further as I want to be sure all memorials have the most correct info possible).
Transfers: I will be happy to transfer any memorial upon request as long as it is not a direct-line relative of my own. If your relationship to the deceased exceeds the FAG guidelines please still ask as I will overlook those guidelines if you just give a brief explanation regarding relationship (or if not related) then why you are making the request. Over time many lines die out so that there are no living DIRECT descendants to care for these memorials which is why I will consider all requests.
I hope this helps and that I can be of help to some of you at least.

That is interesting about Allison being a male's name. I'd never had thought it, but there it is! Thank you so much for entering all the Find A Grave information of the Laymans. I really appreciate it.
Thank you much for writing me back. Don't worry about any late replies---it's never too late to write back and I'm happy to hear from you. We had corresponded some years ago, but I had gotten side tracked and had misplaced your message. I thankfully recently refound it!
Also, I would love to correspond with you further again concerning our Laymans. My email address is LisaDeBarr@gmail.com Please keep me as a point of contact concerning our Layman family history.

Hello. I was wondering if Allison Camden Layman was a male? The name sounds female, but this person has a spouse with the name Leah Virginia Marteney Layman (?)
I'm all mixed up. Can you help, Char?

Thank you Char for your kind touch of a "yellow" rose for Miss Helen's memorial page. It was very thoughtful of you. Sincerely, Fern

I feel the same way. Many of my family worked in those mines. Shorty was my Grandpa Daniel "Stewert" Foy's brother. Grandpa Foy is my mother's Dad. She went to see him at the hospital before he died. She said they had done surgery to try to save him. He had broken his neck. It was a very sad time. I do not know much of Emma. I saw she married again and the trail stopped there as to know of her life. I have lived in Ohio my entire life. It was hard for my parents to keep up with all the families. Isnt is nice to have Findagrave and find out things?

I was so happy to see your memorial. I imagine you are related to Mr. Foy. I am his brother Daniel Stewart Foy's granddaughter. My Mom had his obituary and thought it would be nice to have a memorial for him. Would you mind letting me know if you are related, if you are?
