POSTED ON FIND A GRAVE WITHOUT MY PERMISSIONS. IF PERMISSION IS GIVEN, PLEASE GIVE ME CREDIT FOR MY WORK. Using, taking, copying, retouching and/or enhancing any photograph that you yourself did not take, constitutes violation of Find a Grave Copyright Rules.

Please DO NOT post death certificates on any of my memorials. I feel a memorial should be to honor a person's life.

If requesting a transfer, PLEASE USE THE EDIT TAP, and tell me how you are related. I do not do transfers nor will I link family members by a person contacting me thru the message board.

I do not link memorials to unknown burials.

Do not move your Burial Unknown or a memorial from an incorrect cemetery into the correct cemetery based on my correctly placed memorial & then demand that I delete my duplicate. I will not delete any of my memorials anymore, I will submit them for merge and let FAG decide who's was placed correctly first.

Find A Grave states on duplicates, a memorial with a correct known burial location and correct information will always be preferred over an unknown burial location, that has been moved into a cemetery later.

Ancestry and Story of Alexander High - My 3rd Great Grandfather
Hello, m'am (or sir... I do not see your name),

I am a descendent of Alexander High and Mary Ann Cloud High. I have been tracing my genealogy and came accross your listing in Find-a-Grave. Thank you for that information. I have a few questions...

My primary goal is to determine who THIS Alexander High's parents are. In my research, I have come accross numerous records for the High Family of Raleigh, NC, the ancestors of which have extensive records. THEIR Alexander High is believed to have been born around the same time, but is shown to have been married to someone else, not Mary Cloud, but perhaps she was other wife. I have not found any mention of the very intersting story you have for what happened to Alexander and Polly during the Civil War.

Can you tell me how you came upon this information and all those details, and where I might be able to find it myself. Is there a book or series of family letters? I would like to know all that I can about the family to aid in my research.

The "other" Alexander High family (assuming they are not the same person), has a very different history, and I am unable to find anything to contradict their records, except for what you have listed here. I would much appreciate any information you can share.

Lastly, may I save a copy of the two images you have linked to his memorial (the grave photo and the Civil War document) for my album?

Thank you very much,
K Behr

RE: Griggs Cem
I wasn't able to find Griggs or Stull this past Sept but now that you have helped me with directions, I plan on going to Ky in the Spring. Stull Cem is only 2.2 Mi SE of Olympia (google Sat). I have the correct GPS location but can't locate the "caretaker" of Stull.

Thanks for all your help.

RE: Molly white Simpkins, 1891 - 1916
Henry Clay Anderson must have left Montgomery County, KY and his 1st wife pretty quickly. He married Bessie May Hamilton in 1907, with whom he had 3 children and died 1942 in Warren Co, Oh. Apparently, like many others, he left Ky for the steel mills of Ohio. He worked at Armco Steel, Middletown, Butler Co, Oh from about 1915 till his death in 1942.
