Bio Photo About Us:
I (Bruce)was born in RI and lived there the first 20 years of my life. I joined the USAF in 1978 and was stationed at Minot AFB ND. In 1980 I returned for a visit and married my wife Debbie(Tetrault of Providence RI) of now 34 years (May). We lived there for the next six years and started our family and all three of our kids were born in Minot ND. In Nov 1986 I was medically retired from the Air Force with a 100% service connected disability, and moved to Colorado Springs CO and raised our family there over the next nineteen years. When our children became of age and looked to start their own adult lives. Debbie and I had fell in Love through visits to Hawaii and felt we were in need of warmer weather than our homes (RI, ND, CO) of the past had to offer. So in 2004 we sold almost all we had and with little more than what we had on our back (and what $5000 would Ship (that was not much)). We set off to start life anew in Hawaii. We LOVE Hawaii!

Being retired and disabled, I fill request for Find-A-Grave here on the island of Oahu Hawaii at Punchbowl, National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, and the many National (Cenotaph) Memorials honoring our Servicemen that gave their lives from WWII to present. Because I have a 100% service connected disability myself when I get to fill a request I also like to do a little above and beyond for brother serviceman and their families and friends. Along with the photos I take I also do a GPS waypoint reading using an iPhone app and use this in helping families and friends find views of the grave area. I think this a powerful area of Find A Grave that most don't know about or don't use.
Edit Plot: add Latitude: Longitude:.

Find-A-Grave General Guidelines: The copyright of all photos posted to Find A Grave remains with the original submitter. No use of photos for any other website or personal use is given without prior consent of the original submitter.

SO, I guess I also give my consent , you may use any of the photos I have taken anyway you like. All I ask is that maybe adding the tag "photo by" if used it other than on the find-a-grave site would be a nice thing to add in return for the use.
Please Enjoy our photos and work.

Aloha from Hawaii

Hi, My name is Dennis Brown, I just noticed you have a duplicate Memorial of Cecil that I maintain.
However, I like yours better, Do you know how to merge memorials? I would still like to maintain since it is my grandmother's sisters son. #56114694
Thank you very much. Dennis Brown

Capt. Jack C. Davis
A while back you very kindly photographed Jack's name at the Courts of the Lost. He was my husband's father's cousin. We just returned from a vacation to Hawaii and with the posting of the gps coordinates had an easy time locating his name on the wall. Thank you again for your help! It was very special to be able to see it first hand. Took a photo of my husband standing under Jack's name.

Ens. L. Bailey Pride, Jr.
Aloha! I've become very interested in this young man, who was lost on the Oklahoma. I've only recently learned about what has been going on with the remains that were recovered from the wreck. It bothers me, greatly, that they have been hidden and exhumed more than once. Since the bones were jumbled together, I think a mass grave at the beautiful memorial site would be the most reverent thing to do.

I first heard about the USS Oklahoma in 1970, at Waipahu High School, where I was a student. My dad, a career Marine, had just been transferred to Camp Smith. My high school history teacher showed Japanese films of the attack, including footage of the Oklahoma turning turtle. It made me cry to see it.

Anyway, I was wondering where you found the information, and pictures, of Bailey's parents. According to what little I've been able to find, he was their only child. If they had other children, and have relatives still living, they could help with any chance of identifying his remains, or maybe close the book on such efforts, if there is no one to get DNA from.

Also, I wondered where you got the picture from the Lucky Bag, with his signature. The 1941 Lucky Bag is on, as part of the Nimitz library. Bailey Pride is listed in the index to bios as being on page 200. Unfortunately, pages 199 and 200 are missing. I went to a yearbooks site,, or something, and looked at the 1941 Lucky Bag, there, and the same two pages are missing. I want to read his bio! If you found a copy of the Lucky Bag that is not missing those pages, I would sure like to know about it!

Anyway, I really appreciate all of your efforts regarding these men. It's a shame they weren't recognized, for so long, but I think that wonderful memorial is perfect!

Cecil Barncord
Hello, I'm Cecil's newphew, son of his brother Lyle V. Rowe (Cecil was adopted).
Thank you for creating the memorial for him, and especially thank you for posting his Photo. I've misplaced the two photos I have of him, one of them with my father when they were both stationed on the USS Oklahoma.
I'm curious how you came by his photo and other details. Are either of you related to the Barncords? Or did you find them in the KS public records?

James Richard Ward #84681124
I was hoping you could confirm the birth place for a memorial you created on this person. You listed it as Springfield township, Mahoning, Ohio. I see you live in Hawaii, where James Ward died, and was wandering if you saw it mentioned there.
My interest is because I have ancestors with the Ward last name. There was a brother of my Gr Gr Grandfather named James whom I have not been able to locate, and am wondering if this person who died at Pearl Harbor could be a descendant of his. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You have a bunch Courts of the missing photos added incorrectly so the stone/monument icon does not appear. This throws off the photograph tracking/percentage for the location.

My ignored nice request !!!!!!!!!!

Bruce appReciate all the info and help you gave me, you seem new on Find A Grave. Since he already has the memorial the new one you put makes it a dup. all you have to do is upload the pics on the original one ....and delete your new one. You can upload photos on any memorial even if you do not manage it. I somehow could not find the email you kindly sent me......

Would you mind please just put the memorial photos on the original memorial

many thanks
