RE: Nielsen family

accurate records are important. I was working from old handwritten paperwork and back then so much was written phonetically. Thanks for the corrections.

Nielsen family

There are five members of the Nielsen family that are together. Bodie is one name and the other four have cremains with him. They are in the garden of devotion; however unable to locate their marker

Thank you Mike for adding the information to my grandfather's memorial. Was there any other info available? I know very little about my grandfather other than what I have found on Ancestry so anything additional would be wonderful. Thanks again! Kristi

I just noticed and don't know why I declined your suggestion for his birthplace. I will have to ask his son as well as check the records. I think "Scott" was the home in the head of his Lucky Bag bio. I will try Ancestry, too.

Jack Derthick
Thanks for the memorial for Jack Derthick of Alpena. He was a favorite almost-relative (his mother married my uncle, second marriage for each) way way long ago. We loved hearing his stories of his childhood and the Navy.

ctommelins and souceks
I see that you have recognized the Crommelins among your prewar aviators on their memorials, but not yet the Souceks. Both are great names in USNA history and Naval Aviation. Five Crommelin brothers four of whom were fighter pilots, and four Souceks, two brothers and one cousin test pilots, The other Crommelin brother and another Soucek cousin were surface admirals. All the Souceks were football and lacrosse (almost natural for Oklahomans then) greats.

Dewitt Allen Harrell

I guess I had Dewitt confused with someone else when I said to you that the SSDI was in Marion Co., Florida. It must have been a late night when I did that. So Sorry.

PS are you related??
