I have been researching my family history for several years. I recently found findagrave.com. I became a member thinking I could have my ancestors resting places documented here where future generations of my family would have an easier time finding them then I. While searching FAG I contacted some very kind people that helped me with my research and inspired me to "pay it forward". I decided to be a volunteer photo taker to that end. If I can help just let me know. |
"Your tombstone stands among the rest; neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out on polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care; it is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist; you died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse; entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled so many years ago Spreads out among the ones you left who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved, I wonder if you knew That someday I would find this spot, and come to visit you."

When I cked the Colo DAR transcription of graves in Plattesville they have photographed, they have "P.F. Wylie" listed in Mizpah, but not taken. Maybe a headstone no longer exists there? If so, would be kind enough to take a photo of lot 208 space 1 and 2 when you are out that way again?, being so far away, at least I will have something to keep in the Family History book!

Thank you so much for looking for my great grandfather and my aunt!
My Mom wrote in 1977 to Plattesville, giving info they were buried in Mizpah. the town clerk Gayle responded with "Lot 208 space 1 and 2".
When I cked FP Wylie's death cert, they wrote Fort Lupton as a burial place? confused. I was born in Denver, but don`t know that area well. Any ideas?
Thanks! Jeff :)
