Genealogy has been a passion for years. Find A Grave is a way for me to "pay it forward". By helping others find their families, I can repay the many who helped me in my search. Find A Grave has been a wonderful tool for me.|
This is a hobby. I have a full-time job and can't do this everyday. Therefore, my response times may vary. To ensure there are no misunderstandings, to reduce errors and to keep my participation manageable, here are my expectations.
TRANSFERS: I will transfer memorials within the Find A Grave four-generation rule. While I do believe memorials best belong with family members, I may in some cases choose to retain them. In those instances, I will be happy to add additional information or links. Certainly, I will not transfer my own relatives except in very rare instances.
REQUESTING TRANSFERS: Use the "Edit" button; I will not respond to email transfer requests. This helps ensure accuracy. Please do not request multiple transfers in one message; one person per request. Do not send requests like "transfer all Smiths in this cemetery". To comply with transfer policy, you must fully explain your relationship to the individual. You must include your Find A Grave name and contributor number; I will not search for you.
LINKS: While genealogy is a secondary function of Find A Grave, I think linking makes Find A Grave more informative and is a great genealogy tool. Again, use the "Edit" button. I will not respond to email requests. One person per request. For example, if you want to link all the children of a couple to the parents, send an individual request for each child. Be sure to include your name and contributor number.
PICTURES: My pictures are not in the "public domain". Do not copy or distribute them without my expressed written permission.
MORE ON PICTURES: I recently got a "complaint" that I didn't "straighten" the flowers in a picture. I don't go to the cemetery to take pictures of flowers. My goal is to record the family information on the stone. I may even "crop" the flowers out of a picture in order to get a better picture of the history. Plus, I DO NOT DISTURB the gravesite. At times, I've basically "stood on my head" to take a picture so as not to disturb the gravesite. It doesn't always make for perfect pictures but, just know, I did my best to preserve the history without disturbing anything. They all need to REST IN PEACE!
MY SON: I lost my son, Dustin, in 2009. Please visit his memorial 67376999. He is sorely missed every day.
IN CASE OF DEATH: I'm planning to become a very OLD lady! It's challenging to get links, transfers, corrections when a contributor is deceased. Therefore, Kathy Vanchieri or Amanda Ware will assume control of my memorials upon my demise. It's in my will!

|Rhonda||Walter William Clay memorial|
Cheryl, I emailed to ask you a question about Walter William Clay (memorial #20627075). The email wasn't able to reach you. Have you changed email addresses by chance? Thanks, Rhonda

|Jacque Brandau||Hubert Elliott #69546159|
Hi, my name is Jacque Brandau #48056828. I discovered this memorial of Hubert Elliott since I have several of my Elliott family memorials in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Stillwater, OK. In fact I was born in Stillwater. Hubert is the infant son of my Grandfather, Will Elliott #25667412 and grandmother, Bessie E.J. Dodgion/Elliott #22045642. I would appreciate so much if you could link his memorial to them, or if you prefer transfer it to me. I do not know exact date of birth but abt. 1920 and death 2 yrs. old, so abt. 1922 if you would like to add that. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sorry I wish I had checked before I wrote the previous message. The above mentioned names are already entered into the correct cemetery and photo's are already added to both so all you need to do is delete both memorials from Dogwood Cemetery. Sorry and thank you.
|Karon Murphy Hall||Minnie and William VanWinkle|
Hello, I received a photo request for the above named memorials. After checking in my photo library I have discovered these are not in the correct cemetery. They are not in Dogwood cemetery here in Blytheville, Arkansas. They are both in Elmwood Cemetery, Blytheville, Arkansas, Mississippi County. If you would please delete these memorials out of Dogwood and check to see if they are already listed in Elmwood and then make a photo request I will gladly fill it for you. Thank you in advance
i noticed one of the photos i linked to within ancestry came from you originally and i want to make sure i have your permission to use the photo on our family tree.
thanks so much!

|Laura Cook||William R. Daub #73449463|
Cheryl I have added the information to the memorials as requested. Are you a relation to the Daub's? If so, would you like for me to transfer them to you?
