I live in Fort Smith, Arkansas. I was born in Ashdown, Arkansas. I have been doing research on Holt, Chesshir, Battenfield, Merrell, Moore, Massengale, Hadaway, Rickey, Clark, & Honeycutt. and many more. I have just recently found find a grave. I have been looking for some of the people for a very long time. And I think it is a very good way to share information.

re: Mary and her brother Claude
I was astounded to find this on find a grave. Mary's brother was my great grandfather, Claude B Webb. When you click on the link with his name, it does show an accurate picture of his tombstone. I am looking for information on their family. My understanding is they were a fairly wild bunch that included some horse thieves and I also heard that the farm was lost from one brother to another in a card game. Has anyone heard any of this? Claude was married to Zelma Elizabeth Sparks, and they had three boys and two girls, all of whom I knew as my great aunts and uncles and of course my grandfather Benjamin David Webb. I am also interested in Zelma's family, and am pretty sure they lived near Ft. Smith, Arkansas and she may have been part Cherokee or another tribe of indian. If you know anything, I'd love to hear from you. Please e-mail me at CarrieLPatino@sbcglobal.net

RE: Myrtle Iva Hadaway
I don't know if the info is correct. I have wondered the same thing and would love to know if any or all of it is true. I found the info when the new census info became available & have not been able to fine any information. myrtle may have gotten married & changed her name. A big problem when finding info on women. I would be eternally grateful if you can verify any of this.

Zip code for Steep Hill is 72916, not 72716. Sorry. Everything else is correct.

RE: Steep Hill
It isn't too difficult to find. It is located in the Rye Hill community just outside and south of Fort Smith, Arkansas. It is north of Riley Farms subdivision off of Chad Collie Blvd. at 8015 Steep Hill Road, 72716. There is a small sign off of Chad Collie that points the way. The oldest part is the NW section toward the back. The 2nd oldest part is the SW section also toward the back. The grave locations are posted at findagrave.com

Memorial Gardens, Texarkana
Memorial Gardens is actually East Memorial Gardens. Most all the memorials you have in Memorial Gardens has been duplicated in the correct cemetery, East Memorial Gardens. This is something you might like to check out.
