Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am retired and live in the Texas Panhandle. I have been putting bio's and flowers on memorials for over six years, and when I couldn't find my grandparents, I decided I would add Memorials and put a voice to my families, I don't want them to be forgotten.
This is a picture of my parents, they were Helen Elaine Lott and Steve William Lanning, they were born in 1918.

Lotts of Mississippi
Donna, I saw your posted Find A Grave memorial for Jane C Lott. Her husband John Britlain Lott was first married to my great grandmother Dovie Hawkins.
My father grew up in Mississippi but left when he turned 16 and seldom went back.
I only met my Mississippi family a couple of times and have very few photos of them.Do you possibly have any photos of John B. Lott or of Dovie Hawkins?
If you would like for me to email you and tell you the story I was told about Dovie and John Lott let me know.
Many thanks,charlotte

Sarah Jane Baker
Hi Donna

Sarah is my gg grandmother, mother to Nell Vina Ryan Pittman my mothers grandmother.

the middle name was already on her Find A Grave memorial when I requested stewardship as it was on her husband's Find A Grave memorial. I did add their obits which had been kept by my line of Pittmans.

I have no clue as to her ancestry because I was not sure of which way to look as of yet. But it looks like you will be a great resource. Thank you for contacting me. So if you will give your documentation of her middle name I will change it.
Again Thanks!

RE: Orin Ward
Hello Donna,
Orin, the son of W.C. and Margaret Grigsby Ward..? Strange you sent that now, just yesterday I was looking for a death certificate or something on him. I do not have access to Ancestry.com so I am limited in my search in that area.

I recently heard from the daughter of my dad's cousin (Bennie Gene Baker) that Orin was killed by lightening at the age of 19 and was buried in the Heath cemetery. I almost made him a memorial but decided to wait until I have some concrete proof. I was going to go talk to Bennie Gene Baker about Orin but he passed away the first part of the year.

I do appreciate that information, and may just go ahead and make a memorial for him. I have been trying to contact someone from the Heath cemetery association but I cant seem to get anyone to contact me regarding the burial list from that cemetery. Not sure what to do next.

Thanks again,
G_W

Edgar Cemetery
I saw where you put flowers on several memorials at Edgar Cemetery in Henry County, TN
I just finished taking the rest of the stones at that cemetery. Not all have markers that are listed on this web site. Thought you might want to see the photos not there earlier.

Julia fisher Elbert's Birthdate
On Wednesday, April 15, 2015 5:05 PM, Marshall Lott wrote:

Julia Fisher Elbert Lott was my great grandmother and her birthdate is correct. Eliza Catherine said in the 1940 census that she was born in Oct 1859. I don't know who gave the incorrect date on her tombstone but if you will look at the 1900 census you will see. She said she was 40 years old and was born in Oct 1859. This should straighten out the error.
Also if you will look at the 1870 census you will see that Julia f. Elbert was 12 years old and Eliza C. Elbert was 10 years old. Eliza's birth date is the one that needs correction.
Thanks
Marshall Lott

RE: Winfred
Donna.

I was looking on my records and I show Samuel Tipton Minor's parents as Matilda Boyd and Rufus Minor. Is this incorrect.

RE: Winfred
Yes I am related to Dale Walton. He is my uncle. (Daddy's brother) My daddy was Wayland Boyce Walton. When daddy passed away I became interested in searching out the family. Thank you for the information you sent in the correspondence. It's been a while since I have had time to do very much research but I would be glad to share anything I have that you might be looking for. Anything you have would be greatly appreciated. I have a copy of a book that Uncle Dale put together for the family. Would you like a copy? Marta Hanks
