RE: Simms
Sandy:

I have not been able to trace Lillie Simms to your Simms family, if I ever do I will let you know.
We may be related on both sides.

I was told that John A Myers performed the marriage of his brother Alonzo and his wife Orpha. No one has a copy of their marriage license to prove that statement. Alonzo and Orpha was married Sept. 1987.

RE: myers photo
Sandra,

I have no pictures of John or Nannie, I have asked my Aunts to look and see if they had any of the old pictures from the family, have not received a reply from anyone. Here is what I know about John, he was born 11-10-1877 at Blue Creek, he died abt. 1963. He was a minister but I am unable to find any information to verify this. He is buried in the same cemetery as his Father and Mother, Franklin Pierce and Jeanetta Meadows Myers. (There is no marker or stone for them) I was told John was buried in the Mount Lewis Cemetery at Cedar Grove. I sent you a message in March asking you to check whenever you could to see if he is buried by Nannie. Betty said there is a marker for John, she was there many years ago with her Dad and she remembers seeing the marker. I really need to go to the court house in Charleston and search for his records. Betty is still not well, she is anxious to go to the cemetery as soon as she is feeling better...I plan to let you know so you can meet us. I will call you. Hope you are well. Dreama

Grave for John A Myers
Sandy, is John not buried in this cemetery? According to my Aunt Betty he was buried near his parents, Franklin Pierce and Jeanette Myers. Betty said they were in the older cemetery, hope someday when the weather gets warmer and Betty improves we can come down and visit this cemetery and take pictures. Hope you can join us whenever we are able to do this.
Do you have any idea when John passed? Is he not buried close to Nannie? Hope everything is going good for you, this weather is making me crazy. Dreama

Sheila Parcell
Campbells Creek
Good morning, I have a question regarding Campbells Creek Cemetery, does it go by any other names? I have a family member named James Parcell who was killed and his obit say's he was buried in Kilburn Cemetery at Dry Branch Campbells Creek. This was in 1936. Are there more than 3 persons buried there?
Thank you,
Sheila

RE: memorial page
Take I77 to the Chelyan East Bank exit. Turn rihgt to Chelyan. A short distance you will see Slaughters Creek road on left. Start up Slaughters Creek. Just past buildings on left you will see Litte Creek Rd. Turn on Little creek. on right you will see a sign and a small foot bridge. The cemetery is up the hill. The cemetery is over grown and a lot of the stones are hard to find. Good luck,
