|I live in Whiteside County, Illinois, a sixth-generation resident on all sides. Some names of interest are: Aiken, Mann, Birdsall, Pittman, Buis, Fleming, Johnson, Wink, Armstrong, and more. I trace direct as well as collateral lines. I try to connect far-flung descendants to their county roots. Please request transfers or provide new information with the edit button. I will send information to other contributors. Happy hunting.|

Thank you so much for the nice memorials and doing the edits for me.
Hi CJ - On Harry's death certificate, it gives his death date as May 6, 1962. I realize I had March (so thanks for letting me know about that) but I have the 6th and not the 5th. Do you want me to send you a copy of the death cert? Or maybe you have some other family info. Usually the death certificates are pretty good for the death date even though they can sometimes be off on the birth date. What do you think?

Hi,CJ...Yes, I'm sure the problem in on Find A Grave's website...I just looked at the other photos I posted today, and none of them are showing either, whereas I was able to view them earlier. If this doesn't resolve itself, I'll definitely post them again. Also, I claimed the second photo request that you just made for Richard Gradt so no one else spends their time duplicating them. I'll follow up and be in touch! Thanx, -Constance

I was surprised to hear that the Gradt photos did not show on the memorial pages...I was able to view them after I uploaded them, and I think the difficulty is with the Find A Grave site. After I posted these photos, I posted another from the same cemetery, and that one I was not able to view (I thought at the time, it was because the photo was too large, but I didn't get an error message; just wasn't able to view the photo) Anyway, I'm happy to upload them again...I will, however, wait just a short while to see if the site corrects itself...I do think it's something on Find A Grave's end. But, I've still got all the pictures and will definitely get them posted! Thanx for your message! -Constance
|Shardae Feest||Alfred Finch photo request|
The Racine Heritage Museum lists him as having no stone, but in the same lot as an Albert B. Finch Co. K 8 WI inf. The name on the actual stone only lists A.B. Finch. For now I only posted a picture of the lot. If you believe this is actually Alfred and not an Albert, let me know I have a close up of the stone. Almira and Asa also don't have stones.

Second wife Elizabeth buried next to him. Took her picture if you want it.

I just noticed a note left by an aunt of mine. It says there is a grave marker next to Joel and Sylvia Bixby in the Morrill Cemetery. She says it is that of "Warren, infant son of M.E. Smith and A.A. Phelps. Joel and Sylvia were parents of Polly Maria Smith, Charles' parents, Mary Smith Phelps' grandparents. My aun'ts note is on a list of interred people at the cemetery. I know that Warren's brother, Roland is there, also, but in a different place, in Row 9 to the North. But Warren is in Row 3 to the North.. The cemetery's note says, "Marker, not legible". My aunt may have gotten the information from the cemetery.
|Clarice Brown||Johnson, Wink|
I see that your interests include Johnson and Wink. Robert Johnson was my 3rd great grandfather. I have been able to find ancestors for the Winks and the Truax line, but nothing concrete on the Johnson line. I have Robert's father as Joseph. I have found some information on family search, but have not found anything to back it up.

Again you are very welcome. I have found the volunteers have been very helpful to me so I was more than glad to return a favor to someone else.
