Bio and Links
Bio Photo "Show me the manner in which a nation cares for its dead and I will measure with mathematical exactness the tender mercies of its people, their respect for the laws of the land and their loyalty to high ideals."
Sir William Gladstone

As descendants of ancestors who endured the hardships to tame and settle this country, we have an obligation to see that those who came before us are remembered appropriately.

My goal in Find-A-Grave is to create the best memorials I can create for the people I am honoring. I add as many people as I possibly can to Find-A-Grave and then, as time permits, I do what I can to link them with their relatives and I also add an obituary or write as much of a biography as I can based on available records and information.

I welcome your reviews of the memorials I have posted, and I welcome any information you might provide to help create the best memorials we can possibly create. Every memorial that I have is a work-in-process.

Use the "Suggest a Correction" feature on the appropriate memorial to submit information or any requests. I follow the Find-A-Grave guidelines regarding the transfer of memorials. Any transfer requests should only be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

If you send a request for transfer of a memorial, please explain exactly how you descend, generation-by-generation, from that person. Thanks.

The marriage information for William & Emma shows her maiden name as Duffett, The maiden name of the mother of the two children born in England is Duffett. I was wondering where you received your information that her maiden name was Groves?

Agnes Marie Garrett Mayhall
I have just received a certified copy of the Oklahoma birth certificate for Agnes. Her date of birth was 27 September 1921. The place of her birth is correct in the memorial. I entered an edit on the website to update the memorial with the date of birth; just wanted you to know.

RE: Phillip Ray Scott - 92049649
Your right, I had Texas in my family tree. I had looked at his information late and I looked at it and all the other children around him were born in Oklahoma. Yes, in 1910 they were in Wichita Falls, Texas. His Mother Minnie Grubbs Scott was my Great-Great Aunt.
It took us 15 years to find her, with the internet what it is now we communicate and thanks also to Ancestry, we can find out who our families are. His name was Phillip Ray, a lot of people have Ray as a first name, but it is incorrect. Thank you for getting back to me, and for sure it is Texas, not Oklahoma.

RE: Virgil Montgomery Cole - 75644588
I was happy to sponsor the memorial and you are so welcome! Are you related to the family? I do not know why I failed to have Thompson entered in for the maiden name of his wife. I did not know her parents names and I searched and found them in the 1880 census for Lonoke, Arkansas...so I made the links. Do you know where are siblings are so that the family can be linked? I do not have a picture of Virgil that I am aware of. I have do have a couple of pictures and I am not sure who they are. I noticed that Ladella and her mother Demaris died within days of each other. Is there a story in that? Thank you for making the links.
