"Show me the manner in which a nation cares for its dead and I will measure with mathematical exactness the tender mercies of its people, their respect for the laws of the land and their loyalty to high ideals."|
– Sir William Gladstone
As descendants of ancestors who endured the hardships to tame and settle this country, we have an obligation to see that those who came before us are remembered appropriately.
My goal in Find-A-Grave is to create the best memorials I can create for the people I am honoring. I add as many people as I possibly can to Find-A-Grave and then, as time permits, I do what I can to link them with their relatives and I also add an obituary or write as much of a biography as I can based on available records and information.
I welcome your reviews of the memorials I have posted, and I welcome any information you might provide to help create the best memorials we can possibly create. Every memorial that I have is a work-in-process.
Use the "Suggest a Correction" feature on the appropriate memorial to submit information or any requests. I follow the Find-A-Grave guidelines regarding the transfer of memorials. Any transfer requests should only be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
If you send a request for transfer of a memorial, please explain exactly how you descend, generation-by-generation, from that person. Thanks.

Thank you for the other memorial transfers, I will take great care of them.

Thank you so very much in trying to improve the copies of those originals documents. I was in hopes that you actually had better copies yourself, but indeed that is NOT the case. You have done far more than ever expected. Thank you for your advice in regard to obtaining a higher resolution copy--I intend to do that when I am presented with a bit more spare time! :)

Links made to parents, thank you for memorial numbers. I was unaware who parents were before but have added them in my files. Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much for the transfer of my great grandparents, it really means a lot to me to have the honor and privilege to maintain them. I will take great care of them as you requested. You have put many hours of work into the memorials you create and I so very much appreciate your effort and detail. I did complement you on them if you recall. Also, I did not mean to come off angry, nor meant my message in that manor, was just trying to make a point that you are not the final word when it comes to transfers. It is however quite frustrating at times when I ask another contributor to make corrections or transfers and they either don't do them or get the information I provide completely wrong. I rarely ask for transfers unless they fall into the four generation rule. Some of us here do have morals, standards and honesty. But, I do understand your concern and had not looked at it from your point of view. I have not been here as long as you, nor created anywhere near the memorials you have created. Great respect to you for your work here and keep doing what you do.

You have done an excellent job with both of these memorials!! Thank you for taking such an interest. I concur with you assessment of the ambiguous nature of the inscription of George's marker--1881 is most definitely what the year of birth has to be! I do appreciate your use of document sources. I am curious about what code you insert in the text to cause bold print. That is a very nice touch!! Will Crawford, a grandson, will be very pleased with both of these memorials.

I have been pondering all the discrepancies regarding George Crawford and his wife Elizabeth. Please go to my Find A Grave member page and contact me via my email address. I am in contact with the youngest son of Willie Arthur Crawford, one of the sons of George Crawford, and I would like for you to be in touch with Will regarding his grandfather's information. I do not know whether WIll can offer any clarity, but at least he will be keenly interested. Mike

I listed my lineage for the transfer of my great grandparents, Marion Curtis Horner Sr & Alma Mae [Johnson] Horner, per your request. Now you want my name and my mothers name, when in fact you don't use your real name here either? Just wow! Take a look around that line a little harder and realize how many from the Horner line I have added, how many personal photos I have added, and most all of the family links you see now is due to my research and cooperation of the other contributors to make it happen. This families connections were basically no existent until I went to work on it. Do a little digging and you will find the answer. My grandmother Velma [Horner] Dunegan and grandfather Joe Dunegan had four children, only one daughter, which is my mother. We can do this the honorable way or I can take it straight to the mods, it's your call. This place is supposed to be about family and honoring our relatives, not a numbers game or a power trip.
