I have been doing geneology since 2000 or so ... I have a gazillion names! All of my grgrand parents are buried in Colorado, beyond that I have ancestors everywhere (it seems!) Discovered this site this past summer and love it. I walked the Granby Cemetery and posted it on USGenWeb Tombstone Project as well as posting the Fraser Cemetery from a listing recorded with the County Clerk & Recorder. The three other larger cemeteries in the County are also posted there (Grand Lake, Hot Sulphur Springs and Kremmling). My husband even likes to walk cemeteries with me and we're happy to take pictures when we can.|

You're very welcome. I am always looking for my Family's Bible - when I see names and birth dates in one on Ebay I try to help them find their 'home'. Good Luck.

I agree that the Barbara O'Hara born Dec 1, 1896, died April, 1985 Colorado Springs, Colorado looks like it could be her, but without an obit I don't know.
If I may be so bold, do you live near Colorado Springs or New Hope Cemetery, Fremont County, Colorado, near enough to look up her obit for me?
I live in Mich, so not feasible to do.
I have put in a request with the Pikes Pike Library, so I'll see if they will do it.
If I get one, I'll transcribe and try to get the "owner" of Beulah's Find-A-Grave site to include it there.
Many thanks again.
|Ruth Watkins (Pew) Jaynes||Robert Ray Jennings|
I've been gone on vacation and I am only now getting back to do some genealogy. I had not seen the account of Robert Ray Jennings death. I found an "uncited" obituary on an Ancestry Family tree called "Particulars on Death of Ray Jennings." I transcribed it and am hoping the "owner" of his Find-A-Grave cite will include it in his bio.
Did you have another or different source for the info surrounding Robert Ray Jennings death? If so, what/where is it? I'd like to transcribe it for my records and see if the "owner" of his Find-A-Grave cite will include it in his bio.
Thanks for your work. Subsequent to my message to you, I am now a contributor to Find-A-Grave. I will be working the rest of my life to enter my 40,000 individuals on Find-A-Grave!!!!
|Ruth Watkins (Pew) Jaynes||Jennings in New Hope Cemetery|
First, I want to thank you for all the work you have done in posting on Find-A-Grave.
I would like to know if you have or can get the exact date of burial in 1986 of Beulah Jennings.
I believe she is the woman I am looking for, but can only confirm that by having someone look up her obituary (I live in Michigan, so I can't do that myself), which is why I need the exact date of burial. I also believe her last name was NOT Jennings when she died, but rather O'Hara. Which I will explain in a little bit.
I also wish there was a way to link all the Jennings who are buried in New Hope Cemetery to show their family relationships, which I will also explain here. I am hoping that you can do that, after I explain to you their relationships.
I note that not all the Jennings buried in New Hope were posted by the same person. I have to apologize, but I am not a contributor to Find-A-Grave, so I do not know how to do any of that. I am not very computer literate. I use the computer, but I am old fashioned (61 years old), and it is difficult for me to adjust and learn all the new technology that has occurred during my life span. I have been doing genealogy for over 30 years, have almost 40,000 individual records, etc., but if I have to figure out how to set up a family tree on Ancestry.com, or post all my stuff on Find-A-Grave, I think I would chose to stop doing genealogy cold turkey. I am leaving that to the "younger" generation or to those who have an interest in computer stuff. Personally, I hate computer stuff and would be what you would call a "late adopter" of new technology things. Well enough of this.
I think it is best if I just explain the family relationships of the Jennings/others buried in New Hope Cemetery first.
Michael S. Jennings (1883-1900) was married to Ann Eliza (Willett) Jennings (1844-?).
Their son is William Robert Jennings (1856-1907), who was married to Mary Catherine (VanSyoc) Jennings (1857-1942).
Two children (and some of their children) of William Robert and Mary Catherine (VanSyoc) Jennings are buried in New Hope Cemetery. The two children are:
1. Charles Lester Jennings (1895-1977) and his wife Elanor "Nellie" Eva (Moore) Jennings (1895-1939). One child of theirs that I know of is also buried in New Hope Cemetery. That child is Mary Eileen Jennings (1918-1936).
2. Robert Ray Jennings (1897-1924) and his wife – I think – Beulah Beach "Barbara" (Ledwith) Jennings O'Hara (born in 1897 in Colorado; died 1986, don't know where, but probably Colorado). She remarried after Robert Ray Jennings' death in 1924. On June 16, 1928 in Pueblo County, Colorado, she married James M. O'Hara. The O'Hara marriage ended in divorce in 1937 again in Pueblo County, Colorado. After her divorce, at both the death of her father in 1948 and her brother in 1974 (per their obituaries), she used the last name of O'Hara. I have no reason to believe that she wasn't using that name at her at of death in 1986. But as I could not find her on the Social Security death index, it is possible she remarried between 1974 and 1986 and died under yet again a different last name.
All three of Robert Ray Jennings and Beulah (Ledwith) Jennings children are buried in New Hope Cemetery. They are:
1. Kathleen Beach (Jennings) Lobaugh Venable (1917-2002). I note that Kathleen is buried under her first husband's last name of Lobaugh, but that in the Social Security death index, her last name is Venable, so I assume she remarried a man with the last name Venable sometime between 1962 and 2002.
2. Roberta Ray (Jennings) Bennett (1921-2007).
3. Robert Lawrence Jennings (1923-1977).
I think this explains the relationships of the Jennings in New Hope Cemetery, as best as I can figure it out.
I am VERY interested in Beulah because I believe her maiden name is Ledwith. That is my interest in the whole Jennings clan. I have been trying to locate and identify all of the Ledwith family. While it is well out of the scope of this message to you, if Beulah is a Ledwith, then she is a sister of Mable May (Ledwith) King Watkins Russell (1886-1927), who is buried Mountain View Cemetery, Pueblo, Pueblo County, Colorado, along with her parents and a brother and his wife. And I wish they could all be linked together on Find-A-Grave to show the family relationships, but, as I mentioned above, I don't know how. And FYI, Mable May (Ledwith) Russell was married three times; her second marriage was to my Watkins relative.
Again, many thanks for your postings on Find-A-Grave. Any help you can give me in specifically identifying Beulah Jennings exact date of burial in 1986 would be greatly appreciated so that I could try to get an obituary on her. And if you can link any of the Jennings burials together to show the family relationships that too would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Cathy I hope you will get to go back east one day and find those graves. There are a lot of my family in TN and N Car. Skip's family seems to be i Al, NY, IL and Va. One day I too hope to get to go visit some of these places and maybe close a few chapters on the family history. Thanks for sharing your time and info. If I find something interesting I will let you know.

Sorry to say I can not help you. I am in Texas and have never been to the area where the cemetery might be, so I have no idea. If I ever find out more I would be happy to share with you. How are you related to Nicholas?
