Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Brenda (Boyer) Kohr. My husband Pete and I are researching his side of the family (Kohr/Smith)&(Minnich/Buxton), as well as my own (Boyer/Grimes) & (Beil/Shott). We are not trying to see how many memorials we can amass so that we can have our numbers posted in the "Top Contributors" catagory. We want to make memorials to pay tribute to our families and friends and hopefully help others to find theirs.

We enjoy helping others by photographing grave markers. There are times that we may photograph markers that are near the ones we were asked to take photos of, or if we see one with our surnames. If there is no memorial for these extra photos that we take....I create one. If by chance I happen to create a memorial for a relative or a friend of yours don't hesitate to ask for a transfer. I don't feel the need to keep memorials that I have created. (unless they are family) I only created them so that someone may find a member of their family or a friend.

Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone

It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born

Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so

I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you

Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.

Our niece recently died in a skydiving accident, here is her memorial number if you'd like to include her in your virtual cemetery: 167411213. Appreciate your work!

Williams Grave Photo
Hi I have a mystery I hope you can help solve it.
Today I was in Pottsville I found Thomas Williams
Obituary it confirms he was buried in Charles Baber but when the Lady handed me a book of burials and it was recent Thomas Catherine and violet were not found as being buried in that cemetery yet you took the photo so Im thinking somebody missed it so maybe they missed others too. I wonder if you could help with this mystery, Thanks, TIM

Possible transfer
Hi Brenda and Pete,
Could you please transfer Janet Rost Rhoads 112031765 and her husband William Rhoads 112031983 to me? They are my husbands aunt and uncle and I am trying to link the family together.

Thank you

RE: Mumma Cemetery
Ok, my bad. I thought you wrote the cemetery notes.

This copse of trees is on the Williams Farm. I know the son owns the property now, but at one time it was owned by Sam and his wife Carolyn. They also had a dairy - Bryncoed.

I am from Highspire and later in life I lived on Lumber ST. I thought I recognized the copse!

Thanks,

Jerry

RE: Mary Vajda
Thank you very much for your quick response to my query. I do appreciate all of the photos you post even if you are not related. I try to do the same thing when I visit various cemeteries. Thanks! Paula

Mumma Cemetery
I would like to visit this cemetery; however, it is not listed on any maps. You state that it is off Fulling Mill RD in Lower Swatara TWP. Do you have a more definitive location? Any landmarks you could reference? Perhaps, cross streets you could identify.

Thanks.

Mary Vajda
Brenda and Pete, are either of you related to Mary Vajda? My grandfather Joseph Solar married Mary's mother Theresa Chasa in 1919. It made international headlines because he was supposed to marry another woman who stood him up so he went outside and found Theresa who agreed to marry him. They apparently divorced later. My family would like to find out if anyone has a copy of their marriage/divorce papers and any photos. We have always been so curious about the early lives of our grandparents when they first came to America. I can be contacted at Pdsolar@aol.com. Thanks!

RE: Daugherty Photographs at Highspire Cemetery
Hi,

So Jacob Leroy "Roy" Daugherty and Ethel M. Hendricks Daugherty are Newt's grandparents. Jeremiah H. Daugherty and Rebecca J. Gemmill Daugherty are Newt's great-grandparents. I was looking to see if there might be a connection to my known family members. I have a request to link up Newt's mother to her parents, but it hasn't been processed yet.
