This is one of my family branches I am currently researching. Perhaps at a later date. I will be happy to add any information you have to any memorial I maintain that may or may not be a branch of my own family as in this case. I recently added information to the bio that you did not provide

Jane Bell
Ronald: Thank you for this information. I will add it to my records; and if I run across anything more of interest, I will contact you. All the information I have found through all the genealogy sites, Jane Bell was the 'common law' wife, which she had several children from Josiah Owens. On one census she is living next door to him and his other children from other woman. By the way, was Jane Bell a black woman? On the census, she is listed as a white woman. Just wondering. Thanks!!!
Shirley :)

Jane Bell
I have a question about Jane Bell being the mother of Lewis Bell Memorial #73204009. If she was 'matched' with her husband [some researchers have him as Josiah Owens], why wouldn't the children take his last name? Do you know the history of this branch of the family?
Thanks Shirley
