|I have been studying the genealogy of our family for over 30 years. My mother-in-law got me seriously interested in genealogy by giving me the book "History of the Hershey Family" by Scott Funk Hershey. The book traced the history of the Hershey family. She is listed in the book and it followed her direct line, as well as others, back to the 1600's. In addition to Hershey, our family includes the Kellogg, Corrie, Johnson, Nickerson, Cheney, Rees, Poppen and Albrecht families to name only a few, some famous and a couple infamous. We are connected to a lot of families buried in the Wabash Presbyterian Church Cemetery, where my mother-in-law is interred along with her parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. Other family members direct and indirect are interred in cemeteries located in Crawford, Edwards, Lawrence, Richland and Wabash counties in Illinois as well as in South Dakota, New York, Indiana, Kansas, Ohio and other states and countries.|
Some of the information/obituaries I post on my memorials, or pass on to other contributors, may be found in the Lawrence County (IL) Public Library's genealogy department.
I am happy to transfer any memorials that are not a part of my family.

Warm Greetings RLNT/Genea Logos : )
1st of all THANK YOU for all you do for F.A.G!!! Can I please tap your mind for help? I see your note in your profile... "Some of the information/obituaries I post on my memorials, or pass on to other contributors, may be found in the Lawrence County Public Library's genealogy department." I also see that you added dates to, Find A Grave Memorial# 106813408 for Robert A Strickland (Stricklen)..."[DOD & places of birth and death provided by member #47824061.]"
This makes me think that you might be able to help me. I live in Kansas City. MO. I am wishing I could find the newspaper write up obituary of George Stricklen, Find A Grave Memorial# 125453204. Birth: Apr. 13, 1871, Lawrence County
Ohio, USA, Death: Sep. 14, 1885, Lawrence County
Ohio, USA [Edit Dates]
George was only 14 when he passed. It has been passed down that George was hopping over a moving train and lost his balance.
Also, I wish I could find the news paper obit for, Henrietta Stricklen, A Grave Memorial# 125110283,
Birth: Jan. 5, 1891
Death: Jan. 11, 1897
Ohio, USA [Edit Dates]
Henrietta passed at age 6 "from her clothes catching on fire after after getting to close to the fireplace"
I wrote the following e-mail to Jackson Co historical Soc, on Nov 25, 2014....
I found your e-mail address on the Jackson Co historical web page.
I wonder if there is anyone that could look in the old Wellston, Ohio newspaper for me.
I understand that there would be a cost for this.
I am wondering if there was a newspaper write up about the death of my relatives; (I included their info)
Thank you for any help and or insight that you may be able to give
Carolyn in Kansas City, MO
They wrote back Dec 18, 2014...."Sorry to take so long, but I didn't have any luck. I tried the microfilm in Jackson library and didn't find anything. So today I went to Wellston library for the microfilm and Wellston didn't have a paper for either of the dates. They gave me microfilm from Jackson...I looked again but didn't fine anything. I am sorry I couldn't help. Merry Christmas!
So, RLNT/Genea Logos, what does that mean? Were there no newspapers? Or just that there is not micro film? Is this a lost cause (break my heart) Can you help me? Carolyn : )
|LMM||RE: Carl Augustus Albrecht.|
My 2nd Great Grandmother was Caroline Albrecht Gruling. Her family settled in WI. I only know that she had 2 children..a daughter Marie Gruling Pruss who was my great grandmother (died before I was born)she had 7 children and a son Robert Gruling (who had 20 children).
I know from what I was told the Albrechts used to come to visit the Grulings and likewise the Grulings went to South Dakota.
Your daughter-in-law can connect with me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I have quite a few descendants in SD that I am related to twice (on both sides) because a Jacob married Albrecht descendant over in SD. I think it was the Gehm family?

Thank you for your quick reply. I was seeking info on one of their children: Raymond. I have a Raymond born 8-25-1899 d. 8-12-1969 Do you know if he married a Nancy Jane Garner? Not sure if he is the Raymond, but with Vincennes being a small place back then, the Talley's must be related somehow. You can send any info to: email@example.com or share my email with any family members that might have info. Thank you so much for writing me back. Claudia
