When putting in a picture request, please put in a request for EACH of the family members that you want. Not the message "I would like his wife and kids, aunt, uncle, neighbor (lol) also". When I fill requests, I clean and take that stone ONLY. I get too many people asking "Did you get the rest of my family that I asked for?" No, I didn't because half the time I don't read the message attached.
Thanks so much to all the volunteers that have gotten my family stone pictures...I'd be lost without you! I know how difficult this can be.
THE PERFECT GRAVESTONE PICTURE
1) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NO dates or your name through the pictures. This is REALLY tacky!
They look awful and are SO unnecessary!! This is
about them, not us!
2) No chopped off around the sides. There should be 'outdoors' around all 4 sides.
I want to see what the stone looks like!
3) The stone picture looks best if it's taken in front of the stone, not at an angle. A trick I use to keep my reflection off the stone: I stand behind another stone and use the zoom on the camera (if needed).
4) No 'postage stamp' sized pictures. Set your
camera to take regular sized pictures.
Let's honor our dead as best as we can by taking beautiful pictures. These pictures will most likely be the only ones on the internet for generations to come!
Please don't fill my requests if your name/a copyright symbol or a date are gonna be put through the stone or they're gonna be chopped beyond recognition. I prefer to wait and get a better picture. Thanks.
I do not give permission for my photos to be put on Ancestry.com. They then OWN them.
My pictures are free for you to use in your trees without my permission or credit.
I will transfer ANYONE that's not related to me and some who are. You don't need a reason for transfer, just that you want them is good enough for me! I don't believe in hoarding memorials!
