RE: Spnsorship of Maeve's page
Hi Judy - I think Maeve was an Aussie Shepherd mix, but I don't know what she was mixed with. I'll have to ask my son. I visited Boo Radley's page yesterday, and visited all the furry babies you had listed on your page. They are all so precious. It's so sad to lose so many of our beloved pets, and I wish someone had had a better plan. I wish they could stay with us forever. Maeve was unique among dogs. She was very smart, well-trained, extremely affectionate, and she had a sense of humor. Even though she wasn't my dog, I'm going to miss her like crazy. Thank you again, Judy, for sponsoring her. It means so much to my son and to me. --Sheila

Cool Story
What a neat story! I also have a story, similar, but different. My Grat-grandfather, Henry Hershey and his brother, Isaac, wanted to enlist when the Civil War started. However, because their father fell down drunk by the railroad track in Findlay and froze to death in 1857, their mother needed the boys to work on the family farm (Henry was 14, Isaac was 16, they had 5 other brothers and sisters). She eventually hired a farmhand, whom she married. In late 1863, after the Battle of Chickamauga, the 21st Ohio Infantry came back to Findlay to recruit more men. The boys were allowed to enlist and served. I found out about 15 years ago that the hired hand was a traveling Methodist minister and had 2 other families in Indiana. He would disappear for a while and then appear again. One of the older sons from Indiana followed him one time and followed back to Findlay, so the Indiana families knew about the Ohio family, but we knew nothing about the Indiana families.

RE: James Clymer
I wish I could have met any of my G-grandfathers. My Grandma told me stories of her Dad marching with Sherman to the sea. She was always so proud of him. She also had an uncle, her Dad's brother, who served with her Dad till the uncle got shot.

RE: Thank you
One day last week when I was looking at your family tree, I noticed you had relatives at Forest Lawn. I like to search there however I live 30 miles away, so don't get there as often as I like. I had Saturday morning off so decided to go for a ride. Besides photos of Eliza Jane and her husband, I also added a pic of their son. It was the least I could do after sponsoring my beautiful Sailor.

James Clymer
I am also interested in the Civil War soldiers. My dad lived with his grandfather, who was a Civil War veteran. I inherited his ribbons and other mementos. I have another great-grandfather and a great-great grandfather who were Civil War veterans. I joined the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War so that I could honor them through this organization.

James Clymer
Judy, I wanted to let you know that I helped in finding out about James Clymer's miss marked grave. I was also the "widow in mourning dress" for the rededication of his grave in Marietta, GA in June of 2007. At the time, I live near where James' parents are buried and was married at that time to a Clymer descendent.
