Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've lived all of my life in Reno, Nevada, but my family includes the Becksteads, Dodys, Channings and Reeds of Utah, and the Montgomerys of Maryland/North Carolina.

My two big projects right at the moment are Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City, Nevada, and the Masonic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Reno.

I will transfer to anyone and everyone. Whether it's out of guidelines or in bulk; if you can make the memorial(s) better, you are welcome to manage.

There are only seven memorials I won't transfer (my grandparents and great-grandparents):

Grandma: Lola June Beckstead
Great-Grandma: Lizzie Channing
Great-Grandpa: David Channing

Grandpa: Francis Wallace Beckstead
Great-Grandma: Myrtle Lorina Beckstead
Great-Grandpa: Ivies LeCompte Beckstead

Grandpa: Charles Williams Montgomery

Please note I am not related to 95% of the memorials I make or leave flowers on. Also feel free to use my photos, there is no need to ask permission or credit me.

--------------------------------------------------

I've always been interested in genealogy and local history. I love reading old newspapers and driving around town with my mom while she tells me what shops used to be what back in the 70's.

It was a combination of this fascination and the events that transpired after my grandma passed away in 2009 that led to me discovering Find A Grave.

There was some animosity within the family after Nan passed away, and as a result she never had an obituary, her ashes haven't been interred with Grandpa, and her name isn't even on their gravestone. I think this is terribly unfair. My Nanny was a wonderful person, and October 22, 2009 marked the end of a rich and fulfilled life that deserved much, much more than what we gave her.

I made her memorial on Find A Grave to make up for what I was too young to do when she passed, and now I have a permanent place to go to reminisce. I figure if she doesn't have a physical grave I can put flowers on, a virtual one is the next best thing.

This sentiment of not letting her be forgotten is what led to my additional contributions to Find A Grave. I've done what I can for Nan, but what about the thousands of other people whose gravestones are now the only sign someone once cared about them? The people who haven't been thought about in 30, 50, or even 100 years?

I feel that everyone deserves to be remembered, and I try to do the best I can on each and every memorial I make. I add obituaries if I can find them, and pack in as much information as possible. I'm on a quest for equal remembrance, and Find A Grave is an excellent tool to get the job done.

RE: Erma Amelia (Hoskins) Sullivan #119101832
Hi, Alexandra,

Yes, that would be wonderful if you could transfer Erma and Leonard to me. I knew them as Aunt Erma and Uncle Sully! Such wonderful people!

I need to go back and see if I can get Alma and her husband Tim (Cornelius Timmons Smith, Jr) and Tim's parents transferred to me, too. Alma and Tim were my paternal grandparents.

Alexandra, thank you so much for your help and for all the work you have done. It was quite a shock to see that all of the Liner memorials had been deleted and you had so caringly re-created them. Thank you for transferring them to me as I was not expecting it.

location of grave marker in cemetery
Alexandra. My name is George Allison. I am married to a grand niece of Angelo DeAngeli. WE live in Carson. We have tried twice to locate his grave marker in the Our Mother of Sorrows cemetery without success. With the gracious help of the lady at the cemetery we have located his brother's,in the St. Mark section, and his wife's, in the St. Peter section, but not his. I was hoping you could direct us to the right section where your photo of his headstone was taken. Than you for any assistance.

Maniford Boggs
Hi Alexandra, Are you a relative of Maniford? I was working on this line for my cousin, but he has passed. I would like to have someone with a blood connection or more info take off the maintenance for Maniford. Would you like to do that?

Jean Margaret Pettit Pratt
Jean Pratt 127783310

Alexandra,

You have linked Jean Pratt as a child of Jessie Gallarno Pettit 47528243.

Jessie Gallarno is not her mother. Jessie married her 3rd husband Clyde Pettit after 1932. They did not have children. Jessie was the mother of one child.

In 1930 Jessie Gallarno was living in Okanogan, Okanogan, Washington with her 13 year old son, George Plews. Jessie's second husband's surname was Overmeyer. I do not have his first name. Jessie was a widow at this time.

I found Jean Margaret Pettit Pratt on the 1930 census living in Everett, Snohomish, Washington.

Here is the household.
John W Pettit 44
Jessie M Pettit 35
James A Pettit 18
Jean M Pettit 14
John D Pettit 12
Emma R Pettit 6
Alexander M Pettit 2

Clearly, Jean Margaret Pettit is not Jessie Gallarno's child. Please remove the relationship link.

Thank you so much,
EM
