Although I loathe funerals -avoiding them is a cultivated skill- I do have a tremendous fondness for cemeteries. I always have. I enjoy the solitude, the architectural beauty of landscaped grounds and moss-covered monuments, and even the thoughts of all those souls whose bodies once traversed this earth.|
Everyone has a story. Allegedly, there are 8 million of them in the naked city, but what of the billions upon billions of individuals interred around the world in these peaceful places?
I am fascinated by the people. Who they were. How they lived and died. And what they left behind. Let's face it. Most of us will never preside over nations and kingdoms, or win Academy awards, or discover cures for seemingly incurable diseases. Most of us are just ordinary people. We live, we love, and then we go. How wonderful that Find A Grave allows everyone to be a star. To be remembered and to be honored. We all deserve that.
I encourage all contributors to please write a bio for the persons you manage. People are so much more than just names and dates engraved on a dusty tombstone. Let us know something about the person. Anything. Nothing is too insignificant, because these people lived and should never be forgotten.
Current project: June 6, 2013: Sections 8 and 9, Forest Hill Midtown.

|Chuck Kearns||Henry Craft (1898-1947)|
Buried at Forest Hill Cemetery-Midtown in Memphis. He was the father of country music songwriter Paul C. Craft (1938-2014). I was wondering whether Paul was buried near his father.
His mother, Angie Craft Maurey, remarried & is buried at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis. Paul's son, Paul C. Craft Jr, died of ALS just days after his father, and is also buried at Memorial Park Cemetery. If Paul Sr is not with his father, I wonder whether he is buried near his mother or his son.
|Carol Harbushka||Robert E Crunk (Sr)|
If you are related to Robert E Crunk or know any of his relatives, I am looking to contact someone who knows if Robert served in the Army Air Force in WW2. If so, was he a gunner on a B-17 stationed in England in 1944? My father may have been on the same crew and I have his first hand account of the day their plane crashed in France, 30 Nov 1944. All survived. I will gladly share with any relatives of Robert E. Crunk.

In your bio for Almira Knight (Find A Grave Memorial# 67528659)you list her mother as Almira (Todd) Knight is the Knight correct or just a slip up. If correct do you have any other info on her.
|Dennis Gallegos||LOUIS LIEBEN TRANSFER|
Mark, I enjoyed read your bio. To that end I would appreciate it if you would transfer my "Lieben" family descendant Louis Lieben #106633101. I have all of Louis' information and would like to manage the account. My account is #47276135.
