Hi, I'm Suzie. I became interested in genealogy in 2007 after my father died.|
If you would like to use the photos I have taken for your personal family/Ancestry trees, please credit Fluttergirl.com.
I live in Austin, TX, with my husband and our two kidlets. I enjoy riding my dirt bikes (yz250f & ttr225), learning digital photography (Nikon D90), genealogy, exploring cemeteries, and reading.
When I have extra time I comb through death certificates and old newspapers for memorials. I like to add as much information as possible to each memorial I create.
If you would like to maintain a memorial I have created, please leave me a message or use the "edit - suggest a correction" option. I am happy to transfer memorials to anyone who is in any way related to, or friends of, the deceased. Or if you are investigating a particular family line, feel free to ask for a transfer.
I would like to thank every contributor who submits edits to memorials I maintain. I can't say how much I appreciate your assistance and input.

I went onto this site to search for information about Lehlia C. Highsmith. According to the information you provide, she is buried in an unmarked grave at Oakwood Annex in Austin. I am planning to get a grave stone placed there. Let me know if there is a conflict. If not, I will send a photo when done to update your files.
Thank you so much, I appreciate your courtesy.

I just noticed you do or did a lot of genealogy and was wondering if you could do mine with a few bits of the puzzle pieces I have.If interested let me know. I just miss my mom and her stories of our family and all I have left are the few gravestones I stumble upon.

Thank you for adding my baby uncle's headstone on this website. In researching my ancestors, I found Cecilio. He had an older brother and sister. But, they never knew about him. So, in time, I purchased the headstone for him. The other baby De Leon is not related to the family. The cemetery office explained that when the plot was not fully paid, another person could be buried in the same plot. So, if I wanted to purchase a headstone, I would also have to add the other baby's name, which was fine.
So, as I am working on my family tree right now, I checked what records were online for Cecilio and found the Find-A-Grave memorial. What a pleasant surprise!

I was wondering how detailed your family tree of mine could get with what names I do have for family? I miss my mom's details and wish for some clarity if possible...Thank you for any response!

You have these persons buried in the Cathedral Church of San Antonio. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there have been no "burials" at the Cathedral since the first bishop was entombed in the church floor in 1880, 136 years ago. What was described as The San Antonio Archdiocesan Cemetery by the undertakers of this town, is now known as San Fernando Cemetery # 2, as listed by Find a Grave.
Thanks for your many contributions. Dan
