I am a native Texan. I was born and grew up in the Taylor TX area and moved to Austin in 1959. I stumbled upon the FindAGrave site while researching my family. I am a volunteer photographer and find it very rewarding to help by taking pictures.
RE: Mewis in Austin Thank you for continuing to look for my aunt. I appreciate it so much. I do not know where she is buried; I'm beginning to think that she may have been cremated - as a few of her siblings were. Again, thank you for your time and effort. - Debbie Burks
William F. Snider Hello, Thank you so much for posting the wonderful information about William Snider. I had a question, though... you wrote, "Martha Jane died between 1896 (I have a picture) and 1900. William is listed as a widower in the 1900 census). The two moved to Palo Pinto County in 1890 and Martha Snider died there in 1905." I'm guessing the "1905" is a typo? Thanks!

RE: Mewis in Austin Thank you, Helen. I appreciate you looking up all of the Mewis's that are buried there in Austin Memorial. I have not been able to find out where his (Ben's)wife is buried. I know for sure that she died, but I am beginning to think she was cremated. I've noticed that a few members of my grandmother's family chose that route. I will continue to try to find Ben Mewis's wife (my grandmother's sister). Thanks again for your help.
