Hi Melissa,
There are now better cemetery photos for Springers in Ashland Cemetery. Unfortunately vandals drove over the stone of Ona Parrot Springer and it is now broken off the base. I propped it up against the tree. The fence down the hill is smashed so apparently vehicle came through and lost control.

I have posted the picture of Moses's stone. I have a cemetary book listing stones in all the sunset cemetaries in Harrisburg copyright 1981. It list several Gaskins all lined up beside Moses. John W (1909-1915), then Moses, Ella, Arthur J (Ill Pvt 159 Depot Brig 1896-1941), Pauline Calvert (1906-1945), George Tarlton(1864-1924), Sarah Frances (1865-1941), and George Tarlton Jr (1900-1959). Let me know if you want pictures of any of those also. I am going to try to make it back to take more pictures this week, time and weather permitting.

| Moses Gaskins
I went to fulfill your request for a picture of Moses Gaskins stone in Sunset Mausoleum this afternoon. The Mausoleum doors are chained and locked closed. I will call the cemetary office tomorrow and ask to be let in. However, I did find a stone for a Moses B. Gaskins Dec 24 1865 -Nov 17 1929 in Sunset Hill Area C. Is this the person you are looking for?

Melissa, I searched the Cemetery Book and neither of these Springers are listed as being burried in Goldthwaite Cemetery, I will check again with the Care Taker as he is my brother-in-law and see if he can come up with something on them I don't have. | | | | [View all messages...] |
