To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....

First, I don't link to Burial Unknown Site Memorials as BU shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. Do not request relationship edits to a BU as it will be refused. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site. When you made a BU, you have a chance of losing the memorial to the member who "Find A Grave" in the cemetery.

Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".

Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.

You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.

Many of the memorials transferred to me were done without my request for them. These memorials have found a home and will be nurtured.

Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.

RE: Robert E./Correct Cemetery
Right, Linda, that's it! Asbury in English Creek, NJ. Would you like me to add the photo we took recently?

I'm glad you were able to connect him to family. He is my mother-in-law's cousin.

Take care,
Donna

RE: Robert E.
Hello again Linda,

Oh, also, the cemetery that Robert E. Lee is buried in is Asbury Methodist Church Cemetery in English Creek, Egg Harbor Township, NJ, not the one in Cinnaminson. It's the one where his parents are. Would you be able to correct this?

Thanks!

RE: Robert E.
Sorry, Linda, I did read the guidelines, but I thought by "personal goal" that you meant people that are called "numbers collectors," who are just after the total of how much they can put online and don't really care about the families involved.

Much of this cemetery has not been recorded yet on findagrave, so we wanted to information put out there for "posterity." Yes, since it is a small community, many of the people there are related to my husband's family. Well, maybe that is a personal goal then, but we also want to make it easy for others to research! :)

If you could, please connect Robert E. Lee's parents, father Hurley I. Lee #151413476, and mother Elvinia H. Seifried #151413630.

If I come across any other gravesites that you manage that need a family connection, I'll be sure to send you the information.

Thanks!
Donna

Robert E. "Pete" Lee, #75746346
Hello Linda,

My husband and I have been recording his family in the Asbury Methodist Church Cemetery in English Creek, NJ. I found a "cousin" of his that you have kindly made up a memorial page for. Is it possible for you to transfer the care of it to me? I've entered his parents, grandparents, etc., so he would be connected to his family.

It's the entry for Robert E. "Pete" Lee. Memorial #75746346.

Thanks!

Donna

RE: Marker transcriptions
Sorry, one more message (I hate Findagrave's message system, I can't see your message while I answer). I just received a response on the problem with photos uploading wrong and it is a software problem on their end.

RE: Marker transcriptions
Oh and yes I did take an overview photo of the cemetery, although it was difficult to get a picture of it with all the headstones because they are scattered out in the woods. I am waiting for the acceptance of the photo and the info I submitted about the clean up and the general condition of the cemetery as well as the information that the property is on private land and not accessible from public property or roads. I can't remember what I submitted with that photo this morning and I can't re-read it until findagrave approves it.

RE: Marker transcriptions
Thank you for the edit information, I will check into that and get those entered correctly. I also contacted photo@findagrave.com and asked them to fix the rotation on these earlier as well. Thankfully this is a small cemetery, and this is the only one I worked on today so they shouldnt have a problem finding them and getting them taken care of.

RE: Zinc Cemetery
Thanks for all you do. The markers can not be seen from the road. the small cemetery is way back into the property and only accessible by hiking. I'm not sure about Arkansas law and accessing family burial places. I hope we have that right. This cemetery does not at this point that I am aware, have any of my family. So at this point I am just glad to get the information I was able to get so that they can be found online. Maybe someone who does have family will want to see if they can work with the landowner or go through any legal measures, thankfully I don't have any family burial plots that I can't access yet.
