Her death certificate gives her parents as Oliver Perry Brown and Mary Moore. Mary was Oliver Perry Brown's first wife and the mother of his first children (I think 3) She died days after the birth of their daughter Mary Brown. This little girl is never seen with her father and his second wife. Mother Mary Moore, had a sister Elizabeth Moore, who married Perry Brown's brother Samuel Brown. Samuel and Elizabeth Moore Brown had a son, John if I recall, who died as an infant. They lived near Oliver and Mary Brown. A young girl, Mary Brown, appropriate to be Mary and Oliver's daughter appears to be the only child they raised. My suspicion is that The infant whose mother died so soon after her birth was raised by her aunt and uncle, her parents siblings, who were grieving the loss of their very young son.

This is a long shot but....I see that your name is Jay Wright and one of the graves you photographed was that of Nancy Wright perhaps married to John Wright. I have been searching for a John Wright, born 17 Feb 1773 in Litchfield, Ct, son of James Wright and Elizabeth Lee. This John and wife, Nancy Harper Wright, lived in Harpersfield, Ashtabula Co., Ohio and later in Coschocton Co., Ohio Could he be one of your ancestors ? Thank you for any information.

Bravo to you for your recent research pertaining to Joseph N. Woodmansee and his brother, John Milton Woodmansee! I agree with your findings and have deleted my entry for Joseph and up-dated John’s entry with a photo of his military marker. I do remember I questioned several things pertaining to Joseph at the time I posted the Find A Grave entry and I should have followed through more thoroughly with my research.
You mentioned Joseph’s year of birth. I had listed 1841, based on information I had received from a Noble researcher many years ago. After checking information this weekend, I believe the correct date is 1844. Both the 1860 and 1870 census records list his birth year as 1844, as does the Ohio County Death Records, 1840-2001.
John and Joseph’s father was Reuben Woodmansee; their mother was Melissa Noble Woodmansee. Melissa died in August 1844; Joseph was born in March 1844. Reuben re-married in September 1847. His second wife was Mary Ann Noble (a distant cousin to Melissa). Mary Ann’s parents were John and Huldah Morris Noble----- my gg-grandparents. Joseph does not appear in the 1850 census for Reuben and Mary Ann Woodmansee, but his siblings (John M., Wilson G., and Susannah), along with a new half-brother (Charles L.) are listed.
Glad you were able to clarify the information for Joseph and John. I am happy I could add the correct photo to John's entry.
Take care and thanks again.
