Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm a genealogy nut, but don't have a lot of time to work on it, unfortunately. I hope that at some time, some of the work I've done will be useful to someone else working on their family history. Every time I add a name I stop to remember what these people have done and what kind of impact they've had on someone's life. I'm grateful I can do this for them. If you have any changes to make to anything I've entered, please e-mail me and let me know.

I don't recognize this name.
Yes I am LDS and Halderman's are ancestors but I don't think I have had work done for any of them.

Flags in Westlawn
I know this is very short notice, but I just remembered you had mentioned being interested in helping place flags at Westlawn for Memorial Day on the veteran graves. We will begin the project tomorrow (Wed 5/21) and hope to have it completed Thur 5/22 evening. We will be working all day both days, so any time you could give would be appreciated. There will be signs for the Memorial Day flag project sponsored by Centennial Lodge.

Again, sorry for the short notice. If these days do not work for you, we will be picking up the flags on Sunday June 1 beginning around 5 pm. We can always use help then also if you can come.

Let us know if you can help any. So sorry for the short notice.

Valley Cemetery
Thank you very much for seaching for Thelma Rock's marker. I was there a few years ago and it wasn't in good shape then.

RE: August Marohn - Valley Cemetery
Isn't it sad how some cemeteries get lost in time. My surname ancestor in early America had his grave plowed over into a farmers field many years ago. The country area where I live you find a number of old family plots that are just sinking into the ground and anonymity. I'm like you, I like to give them a story to go with their name so people can sense them, and even a grave marker can make them feel closer to you.

Brasch family

You tagged Ervin Brasch, Find A Grave Memorial# 64161106, Do you know if his given name was Alvin from Cuming, Nebraska? I have Alvin b Sep. 1887 on 1900 Census that tells me there is a match to this Ervin on Family Search.

RE: ID Military in Westlawn-Hillcrest
Thank you so much for helping with this project already! Many of those that served in the military have no indication on their grave site so we depend on word of mouth to help us know of the veterans so we can honor them with a flag on Memorial Day.
We are doing this project sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge. We are always looking for volunteers to help with placing the flags and/or picking them up after Memorial Day. We place thousands of flags in the cemetery. We usually start on Wednesday before Memorial Day and try to be done by no later than noon on Friday as the traffic in the cemetery gets quite heavy. Then later in the afternoon on Sunday after Memorial Day we walk and pick up the flags. These are then sorted and stored for next year. We are in the process of upgrading our flags to medium and larger flags as they are easier seen (We have been using small flags which soon get lost in the grass!)
