PLEASE do not take my photos (family pictures or grave photos) and use elsewhere, especially Ancestry, without my permission. There's personal family photos I've never even uploaded to Ancestry but have ONLY placed on Find A Grave that have been taken and put on other's Ancestry trees, and they aren't even related to us!! Really??????|
Most of my work is from "mowing the rows" in our local cemeteries or in those that are special to me when I get a chance to visit. I try to be very thorough in what I do post to this site. My favorite part of contributing to Find A Grave is walking the cemeteries and taking photos. ACCURATE cemetery documentation is very important, and this is why I do what I do.
I love to research and link families, and add biographical information - please use the Edit tab and send me any information you would like to have added, and I will add based on the rules for bios set in the Find A Grave FAQ's.
I transfer only within the four-generation
PLEASE carefully check the cemetery in which you want to list a memorial (it doesn't hurt to quickly check the county too) BEFORE you list it, as one may already exist for that person. Duplicate memorials for the same person, ("Dupes"), whether accidental or intentional, are not allowed by F-A-G. Duplicates erode the quality of this site and are problematic for many reasons. I will send you a friendly SAC if I see one.
It is very sad that quite a few contributors continue to misuse this site and post entries as permanent BURIAL UNKNOWN, both recent deaths and those 100 years ago or more.
This is Find A GRAVE, not a memorial site for generations of folks who have passed on and we do not know where they are buried, or for certain what happened to their remains.
I do not add entries for those with unknown dispositions (Burial Unknown) to Find A Grave. I also will not link my managed memorials to those without proper dispositions. Please do not link any BURIAL UNKNOWN entries to the memorials I manage; I will request the links to be removed if I become aware they have been linked.
PLEASE realize this is a GRAVES REGISTRATION SITE, not a place for you to build your family tree :) If you do not know where the person was buried, or the final disposition of the remains, you should not be listing the person on FIND A GRAVE.
The most recent FAQ's regarding the purpose of this site:
What is Find A Grave?
Find a Grave's mission is to find, record
and present final disposition information from around the world as a virtual cemetery experience.
Memorial contributions to Find A Grave should fulfill that mission - registration
of the final disposition. If the memorial contribution corresponds with only the
main mission, then the memorial fulfills its purpose as part of Find A Grave's mission.
Find a Grave memorials may contain rich content including pictures, biographies and more specific information. Members can
leave remembrances via ‘virtual flowers' on the memorials they visit, completing the virtual cemetery experience.
Find A Grave is a resource for anyone in finding the final disposition of family,
friends, and ‘famous' individuals.
Find A Grave is definitely a genealogical RESOURCE, but not a genealogical SITE..... There's a difference :)

|searcher||Mary Ann Phillips Burkhart|
Mary Ann Phillips Burkhart has two memorials, # 67203181 and # 128363034. The former was created first, and the latter reflects where my great grandmother is actually buried. I have requested Find A Grave arbitrate in combining these two memorials.
Thank you for your request to transfer her children to the memorial that reflects her burial place. Your request was the impetus to get this problem corrected.

Thankyou for your reply...
And yes they're the people in talking about..You could be right, it was in fact people related to this woman who claims they're related to my husbands Louise/Patterson family. I must say I've had my doubts as Australian indexes list my Louise as dying here. But they swore they were...related via my hubbys GGg mother Emma ward from Isle of Wight d/o Edward Mormon Ward & .Charlotte Pitts This family had said that she had also married 2other times including here in Australia....I know I have my info right on my Louise who's actually Amy Louisa, as our Patterson originated from Germany to Ballarat Australia & name was changed to that...
More investigation needed I think at least on there part..
Thankyou for your information.

Just wondering if you are related to the above ?? As you said on your profile that they're family/personal pics ???...,
Reason I asked is because Louise Patterson is/was a relation to my husband and we have just discovered her USA connections as she was born here in Australia. And had been married 3x including her in Australia hence why I only knew of one husband, these USA connections I stumbled across by chance.
Louise is in fact her middle name which wasn't uncommon in her family to do so.
Did you take the photo of her grave??...if so where is it because I was always lead to believe she died in Ballarat Victoria Australia...

|Elaine Roberts||RE: Kirkland photos at Red Bank|
I apologize that I did not realize that you were looking for Gertrude Kirkland.
On the photo request sheet she is listed as Gertrude Kirkland Holder. I looked for a monument named Holder, but did not see one.
The next time that I am in Saluda, I will take a complete picture because the one that I took shows Gertrude but cut off the year date born and year died.
I got your email about a duplicate memorial. I am aware of duplicates and so is the other contributor. Without headstone photos i can't be sure which memorial is correct. I used burial records so now i am waiting for photos.

Oh, I thank you so much for taking the photos of her marker. You are appreciated.

I forgot to delete what I made. I made this memorial only after finding yours, this was do to when I typed in his name Jessie it came up nothing. You have it as Jesse, Census records can be wrong. You have photos for him and that is great, for Jesse was my grand mothers first cousin.

No I haven't received an e-mail on Mineriva. Only thing I have received is what you sent about Lindsey Franklin Drake. Look forward to reading what you found on her.
Have a good night.
