|Bio and Links|
I recently read on another bio, "our ancestors can't tell us where they are buried, we have to find them." So true. I'm so thankful to all the volunteers that have registered the graves in their areas. My personal goal is to help register graves in my area that will hopefully help others locate the final resting places of their loved ones. |
Please remember that while FindAGrave is a great tool to use in genealogy research, the clear mission of FindAGrave is to register the graves. If you are new to FindAGrave, please click on the "Help with FindAGrave" menu selection and read the FAQ before starting.
Yellow daffodils I've placed on a memorial usually signifies a connection to me in some way.
I'm happy to transfer memorials within the FindAGrave guidelines found in the FAQ (and I'm somewhat flexible on that). To request a transfer, click the "Edit" tab on the top right of the memorial and then "Suggest a Correction" tab to send me a note requesting the transfer, indicate HOW you are related, and don't forget to provide your Member ID. I'll consider all requests, but you might want to consider building a Virtual Cemetery (see FAQ).
I'm also more than happy to provide links where the final disposition is known or add additional information. Again, click the "Edit" tab and "suggest a correction" to send this information.
A word about photos I've placed on memorials. I'll gladly give you permission to use my photos if you ask me, indicate that I have granted you permission, and provide a link to their FindAGrave memorial. I have found several of my photos posted in family trees on the web without my permission and without a source to FindAGrave. This is a copyright violation and poor research sourcing. Again, please just do the right thing and ask if you'd like to use anything I have posted on any of the FindAGrave memorials.
To all the volunteers that walk through long forgotten, overgrown, tick and snake infested cemeteries, taking photos of all gravestones (even broken or half buried ones), and create memorials, thank you. Those gravestones may disappear or become completely unreadable in the future. For your efforts in registering the graves, thank you for all you do.

Hi Sherryl... sorry it took me this long to get back to you... we're on the road in an RV and I don't trust the RV wife's so waited until I had some more data usage on my phone so I could connect to the internet using my phone as a hot spot... anyhow, you are right and the date of the photo must be wrong... this definitely is Mahala Osburn Smith... she was my mom's aunt and my mom remembers her well... so the photo is right... the date must be wrong..please eliminate the date... thanks,
JLee was my Fathers 1st cousin. JLee's Grandfather (Jep Hendrixson is buried not far from my home in Tennessee. My Father was also named JLee Hendrixson. We kept the "son" on the end of our name.

111192905 - I received your message about this memorial indicating I had made some incorrect links. I'm a bit confused on this memorial because the Christopher Columbus Reeves I have (2 of them) have parents Pleasant Andrew and Sarah Melissa (Baker) Reeves and Austin Smith and Abigail Reeves. I do not have the combination that has ended up on the memorial listed above in my data base. I find the 11/30/2015 automated e-mail informing me that the edit for Christopher Columbus Reeves (1903-1941) had been accepted. Now I'm curious as to how I obtained that information. I had submitted an edit for C. C. Reeves per http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=9329754
I'll have to check this out further to see if I can figure out what has happened.

As of today I have only found the photograph from the Farmington Cemetery in Farmington, Washington County, Arkansas. I am working on several Family Trees so I may find more. Thank you for your time.

I would like to use a photo you have of Daniel Quirey's (15027631) headstone.
In doing research on my Quivey ancestry, I believe that Daniel's last name was misspelled and should have been inscribed as Quivey.
I plan on establishing a Find-A-Grave page dedicated to Daniel Quivey and would like the use of your photo. (I also will post 2 scanned images of diaries mentioning Daniel Quivey's death at Fayetteville, Arkansas to back up my claim).
In addition, I'll make references and links on the Daniel Quivey page to the Daniel Quirey page.

May I use the Cemetery Photographs you have posted on Find A Grave on my Family Trees? Thank you for your time.
|Kathy Park||RE: request for photos|
sorry for the delay in responding. Find a grave did not let me know you had responded and I didn't check my messages until now. Someone else saw my request for photos and took them and posted them. Thanks for offering to do this.
