I applaud everyone for their additions to Find A Grave. I have found a lot of burials on this site for family members. |
Please do not hesitate to leave me a message if you have something NICE to say about anyone. If you want to be unkind, please do not leave a message. I will delete it.
(quote above copied from DaveV)
Also, if I have added a photo you would like to have a copy of, feel free to copy from the memorial page. That is the reason I put it there.
The memorials I have added have been made to assist those who do genealogy. They are not intended to hurt or upset anyone. If one has been posted that you prefer does not appear, just kindly contact me and it will be removed immediately upon request. (love this quote from T M & M L)
TO VENT A LITTLE:
If you find a memorial I have made and I have placed it in the wrong cemetery location (so many cemeteries have the same name), DO NOT send me a nasty email. I will ignore it! I try to place them correctly and if the paper says MEMORIAL SERVICE, this usually indicates a cremation. The family may later place a marker in the Family Cemetery plot. If you see one of these for my memorial, I will correct it. No need for hateful comments telling me not to add memorials if I don't know the burial place.
I, like most others on Find A Grave, check a cemetery list before adding any memorials. If the name is not there, I add it. However, there are some folks who have made memorials and put “BURIAL UNKNOWN”. Then eventually correct theirs, making another LOOK like a duplicate. It does not matter what the Date stamp on your memorial is. If the memorial was not in the cemetery list then it should be deleted when you see another person has it correctly added. Do not send them an email stating DUPLICATE.
There are some oversights, I understand this. I have overlooked a memorial before as well. But there is also a LOT of memorials on here with no cemetery listed. It is not fair that we have to delete the memorial we add correctly when another memorial is moved.
HAVE A BLESSED DAY!

|Donna Sloan||I have Livingston info|
Hi! I am new to Find a Grave and saw that you have been working hard on here! I am a descendant of Frederick Livingston (1797-1851) and have some info on more of his children and their descendants if you want it. He had nine children with his first wife and five with his second wife, including my great-grandmother. Let me know if you want to chat!
You sent a correction for Gus Moody/Augustus Moody. Gus Moody was my gggrandfather and I've hunted him for years without much luck. I studied every Augustus Moody and none were my Gus, who died before 1910-his wife was a widow on the 1910 census, plus I've talked to relatives who knew he had died when his children were youngish. My Gus was one of the Barnwell county Moodys, that's all I've ever been able to determine about him. But he was not the Augustus Moody you sent me. I do appreciate your effort, though.

I'm still looking for her dea Cert too. In my research I have her maiden name as Nancy McManus. She is listed in 1860 census as Nancy H McManus, age 8 in household of James L Lowery, wife, Henrietta Lowery, Jonnas L McManus, age 15 and 4 other Lowery children. In my ancestryTree I have Henrietta ___ Mar ___McManus & having Jonnas & Nancy then 2nd husband, James L Lowery with several Lowery children.
Nancy's children: in their dea cert or obits -- some list mother as Nancy McManus and others list mother as Nancy Lowery.
My direct line is thru Nancy/Nannie's 1st son, John R Knight, d 1931
Please keep me posted (and I will too).
Sorry to bother you, but I'm trying to make sure our communication is accurate. You sent:
"daughter of Augustus Knight and Nellie/Nettie Blackman"
In this form, it implies that Augustus were not married. I'm guessing that they were so I changed it to:
"as the daughter of Augustus and Nellie/Nettie Blackman Knight" This says for sure that they were married. The other way indicates the child was born out of wedlock. So, am I right in assuming that her parents were married?

"Sudie Brewer Lowery Knight wife of Ansel Knight"
From what you sent, I don't know which you are saying is her maiden name, etc.
The newer system for edits really works better for editing names and linking people. Why don't you send it by selecting "name" and putting it in there like you think it should be.

Susan, This is my Great Great Grandmother. Thank you for alerting me about her grave at West Side. Been looking for her & husband for years. From your note from Peka sounds like there may be an obituary for one of them ?? Would love to see it. I am going to search for her 1929 Death Cert too.
Again..... thank you so much for posting.
I filled your photo request. I didn't find her husband's grave there. Wherever you see memorials with my name on them, I probably photographed the entire cemeteries. Sometimes I miss a grave, but usually I take all of them. I know I missed some in West Side so it might exist. But there are 11 other photo requests and I went to the library and none of those graves exist. The city owns the cemetery and they keep records and they're published in the library. Sometimes obituaries are wrong (I guess they changed plans).
Anyway, I'd go to the library and look but am unable to travel right now due to surgery.

|Remember me||Esther Rutledge|
As I stated in the earlier edit request, a family member requested that the name of Cox be shown as the middle name to allow for connection to the son. I will continue to allow that request.
Thanks -- Don

I would love to explore your connection to Salters Cemetery in Salters, SC. There are three generations of my Moseley kin buries there.
