My original research was concentrated on the Pahlke and Schwemm Families. The majority of them settled in the Barrington, Illinois area. |
Other family names that I am now researching include in connection with the Schwemm and Pahlke lines are Rethmeier, Friedland and Schnetlage.
In the greater midwest area I am researching Schultz, Horton, Maish, Poland, Warren, Usilton and many more.
I also am researching ancestors in Upper Michigan. The Johnson family settled in Toivola at the turn of the 20th century. I am researching the Johnson, Keturi, Gull, Salmi, Mattila, Taskila and Lampi surnames (to only name a few!).

|Sandra Taylor||RE: Louise Pyritz Corrections|
Thank you Pattie for your response.
My family records show that Louise (Harmening) Pyritz was born in 1904 and died in 1952. It seems strange that your Louise would have the same dates and is buried in the same cemetery as Louise (Harmening) Pyritz' parents.
George LeRoy Pyritz married Louise Clara Alberta Harmening (2nd cousin 1x removed) on September 16, 1925 in Marion County, Indiana USA - Web: Marion County, Indiana, Marriage Index, 1925-2012.
After Louise died, George married Frieda Louise (Harmening) Spalding (2nd cousin 1x removed) on August 3, 1958 in Marion County, Indiana USA - Web: Marion County, Indiana, Marriage Index, 1925-2012. Frieda was born March 23, 1909 and died on March 27, 2000. Frieda was the sister of Louise.
Louise and George did have one daughter, Juanita Louise Pyritz (my 3rd cousin), who was born on November 13, 1926 in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana USA. She married James Arnold Phelps on September 2, 1950 in Marion County, Indiana USA - Web: Marion County, Indiana, Marriage Index, 1925-2012.
The Social Security Death Index, 1935-Current shows George died in July of 1967. I also show that George was born in Chicago, Cook, Illinois USA.
There is an Obituary for Frieda Mary Harmening Pyritz on Web:Obituary Daily Times Index, 1995-2012, but I don't know how to get to it.
Do you have a document that shows the daughter is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, rather than George's 1st wife? I don't have one on my end. If we could get this obituary, it might help locate George and his 2nd wife. I live in South Carolina, so I can't go out to the cemetery to see where Louise is buried. If she was buried, close to the Harmening family, I would think it would be George's 1st wife.
I don't know if I have helped you any, but we still don't have an answer to where Louise/Frieda or George is located.

I don't have what Moon Betty married however I was just in Blackduck and they have a new history and Arts center. They have a collection of obituaries and newspaper articles. If I didn't have my 4 boys with me I could have spent hours copying things.
|LBS||RE: Friedlands & Heuers|
FYI, I have also added memorials and gravemarker photos for John and Evelyn Friedland and their son James.

My husband and I searched the section where Wm. Friedland was supposed to be and there was a lot of grass without markers, on a slope. Since there is exact plot info. on his memorial, the cemetery would have to point out the exact spot. I didn't want to report it as a problem, as there are other volunteers perhaps more familiar with Bluff City. Challenging just finding the plot markers! Glad the Heuer's are linked, thanks!

|Kari Olson||Peder Hanson and Franks|
I photographed their lots. NO individual headstones for the Franks, i included the unreadable marker, so noted in 1985 Cemetery book.
Peder Hanson in the Potters field also has no headstone but I did two views of Potters field.
Sorry, I figure its better than nothing.
|Kari Olson||Peder Hanson|
I do not believe there is a stone for him either,although records do not indicate that . But I photographed the stones on Potters field, and there are only a few existing today. I will look again for his also tomorrow.
|Kari Olson||Franks in New Lisbon|
According to the records I found , there is an unreadable marker for Franks. Emeline, Wm and their son John E have no individual markers. I will try to figure out which unreadable marker is the Franks and photograph it tomorrow for their memorials. There is another marker nearby also said to be unreadable and the first name is Frank so I may have my work cut out for me. I will go tomorrow morning, after I have coffee...:-)
