Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been a genealogist for over twenty years. As part of my research, I photographed family gravestones and have posted them (and others) on Findagrave. Anyone wanting these posted photos (for their own family research) is welcome to make copies or to contact me for a copy.
----------
Since I wrote the above, my interest in posting to Findagrave has changed. I started with just my family tree, but I have expanded to doing unrelated gravestones & memorials also. Because of personal issues I will not add genealogical information to memorials that is not on the gravestone, unless I personally do the research. By doing this I avoid the issue of what the sources are. The exception to this is my own family tree which I have deeply researched in primary sources. Regarding the memorials I have added that are not related to me, I will be happy to and would rather transfer them to a relative of any degree or other person with a vested interest. This is because I believe that a related person will do a better job of maintaining and have more information to add to a memorial along with having more motivation to see to the linking of related persons on Findagrave. But PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR RELATIONSHIP to the requested memorial as part of your transfer request. If you choose to ignore my relationship information request I will choose to ignore your transfer request. Because of my health issues, in the future any requests for changes to unrelated memorials I have, will result in them being transferred to the person requesting the changes. So I am requesting relationship information the same as a transfer request. I hope this is OK with all. Thank you.

RE: Benjamin Franklin Hiestand
Is it possible that he may have been recorded by the cemetery by the wrong surname? Never thought to ask when I called - perhaps OILL - his widowed mother's aunt and uncle where they were living, or by an odd spelling of HIESTAND.
