Bio and Links
Bio Photo In the spring of 2010, I became interested in finding out more about my father's family. My g-g-g-g grandfather, John P Lyle, settled in Paulding Co, Georgia, sometime before 1840. It is thought that he received land in the 1832 land lottery of the Cherokee lands. I worked on the LYLE family tree and then started looking for the graves of my extended family. I spend the majority of my time looking for graves in Paulding County and the counties that surround Paulding, such as Haralson, Polk, Bartow, Carroll, Cobb and Cherokee. I have found this to be a great way to fill in those extra hours I now have in my life as a retired person.
I have to give credit to my brother, Tom 'CC' Lyle, and to my 1st cousin once removed, Dianne Eberhardt, for allowing me to use their genealogy research information in several of my FAG memorials.

No problem. I've been saying for years that I wanted to go up and have a look at that cemetery since there are some Civil War soldiers buried there, and you gave me the perfect opportunity. :-)

Your welcome. Oh how I wish you had some relatives for me but unfortunately my family came from Hungary and refused to discussed their families in the "old country". Not to mentioned that: 1-their last names were changed at Ellis Island and 2-it is common as Smith and Jones: and 3-they rarely ever gave their children middle names and the children's names were the same as their's. The way they "distinguished" themselves were by their occupation. Such as Joe the butcher or Joe the son of Joe the butcher. Ugh! I have hit a brick wall with my grand parents so my tree is very small. Thanks for the offer. Michelle

Alberta is not my memorial - sorry. I did however, look thru all of my memorials and I found 1 Lyle, Margaret that I transferred to you. I wish I had more for you. However, if you do find someone in your family that has me as a creator, I will be more than happy to give them to you. Hopefully, the creator of Alberta and other Lyle's will be kind enough to send them to you. Have a great day. Michelle

You are very welcome! Sandy, do you live in the Carrollton area? I have located a website that contains the cemetery surveys for Haralson County, GA. It has helped me to locate the burial sites for family not listed on findagrave.

Your welcome, I tend to pick a cemetery & then photograph every stone that's readable. I will then spend a few days editing, posting, & creating memorials when necessary. I am disabled and this gives me a chance to get outside on nice days & then something to do besides watching tv all day. I am so glad that I can be of assistance. If I happened to created any memorial that belongs to your family, I am more than happy to transfer them to you even if you are a long distance relative. I prefer to have relatives, no matter what the relation is, to maintain the memorials, as they would have knowledge and information on that person. The more information given now will help in years to come in tracing family history. Have a great day. Michelle

Martha Jane Lyle Johnson
Please consider revising the description of the 4 generation photograph you posted to the memorial for Martha Jane Lyle Johnson (Find A Grave Memorial# 95711256) to include the married name of "Hunt" for her daughter Mary Eugenia Johnson.

I have very many relatives in that cemetery and as better weather approaches I will be making many visits and will continue to look with each visit.

John Weaver Crayton
Although John Weaver Crayton's CSA marker gives his death year as 1864, it is clear he survived that year. He appears in both the 1870 and 1880 censuses in Paulding County. He also appears in the Paulding County tax digest. It is far more likely that a simple transcription error produced the 1864 date. J W Crayton probably died in 1884.
